No artifical sweeteners or processed products

So not true.. Personally, I did/do have a problem with certain processed foods, but there were times (even years at a time) in my life where I didn't include any of them in my diet and still gained weight... You can definitely get fat on real whole foods.. I'm an excellent cook/baker.. I can make you a carrot-nut bread with natural whole ingredients that will make you gain 10 pounds instantly... Especially when you top it with fresh whipped cream... and stay away from my homemade granola.. the highest calorie food EVER. (uh butter, oats, nuts, dried fruits.. sooo calorie dense) OP, Do you use stevia.. there is minimally processed stevia out there or you could buy a plant and just use the leaves yourself. Beware of juicing too early on.. fresh raw juice is very hard on the stomach. I enjoy juicing and was told to wait 6 weeks before reintroducing.

    Lower legs

Amanda the cute young blonde girl that america "voted" to be a contestant on the biggest loser a few seasons ago has Lipedema and she has had liposuction on her calves... so there is hope for us.. save those pennies for plastics!

    Lower legs

Lipedema, also called lipoedema is a disproportionate fat build up in the legs..It is not NORMAL fat and often it will not release even if you are starving. It's very possible you will never be able to lose all the weight in your legs. (I'm in the same boat) I started out with a 25.5" calf when I was 360... at 254 my calf is 22.5 not really much of a difference given more than a hundred pound weight loss but I'm hopeful that after I've lost all the excess everywhere else my body will release at least SOME of my calf fat! There is a doctor in Germany who is having good results with liposuction of the lower legs though and he specializes in lipedema patients.. so I guess there is hope for us yet! BTW don't confuse lipoedema with LYMPHedema.. lymphedema is swelling from Fluid.. lipedema is abnormal FAT.

    When can we have coffee?

As soon as I was discharged from the hospital. There was no "ban" on coffee for me but I was urged to try to keep it to two cups a day.

    Twonderland!

YAY MOLLY! It's amazing what we can accomplish with the right tools! You have a lot to celebrate! I know I felt like I was walking on air for like a week when I said goodbye to the 300's.

Will I fit in the Airplane seat?

Unless you are an extreme pear, YES. you will FIT! I am only 5'5" and I flew at 290 and ALL of me fit in the seat with the armrests down. I got a window seat and leaned against the side and did not encroach at all on my seatmate's space. I did not need an extender either. I flew at previously 315 as well and only needed an extender once. go to seatguru.com and find your airline and flight number and you can see how large the seats are. 18" seats are what I had on my flight with no issues.

    I stop loosing pounds

I stopped losing for an entire month shortly after surgery. It's normal when your body looses so much so quickly.

    Where are the apple shapes?!

I'm the same.. I lost my pear shape at somewhere around 300... my upper abdomen is still much larger than it was when I was at my current weight previously (15 years ago) but the pear is definitely coming back.

How much did everyone lose before surgery?

I did an 800 calorie a day diet for 3 Months before starting my two week preop... I did 2-3 low carb protein shakes and one "lean and green" meal I could also have a boiled egg, a few nuts or half a piece of fruit as a snack. I started on December 1 at 335. I was 297 on March 1st and then lost another 7 pounds during the two week preop diet (which included 3 days of clears). so all together I lost 45 pounds during 3.5 months before surgery.

    plug outlets

Mexico uses the same current and plug type as the US so no problems
  13. My highest weight was 360. I started my WLS journey at 335 on December 1 2012. I did a three month 800 calorie VLCD and then 2 week preop diet. Weight on surgery day was 290. My current weight is 255... so that's 35 pounds lost since surgery on March 13th. I've been eating 800-1050 calories a day...I only lost 4 pound in June due to a long stall.. Expecting things to pick back up soon but I know I'm a slower loser.

Can you mix protein powder with anything?

And also remember that unflavored does not mean "no flavor" It still has the natural flavor of protein powder it just doesn't have any extra flavors added to it.

    Green Juice

1 cucumber 4 celery ribs 1/2 lemon (peel it with a vegetable peeler and leave as much of the white on as possible) 1/4-1/2" slice of ginger (start small) 1 granny smith apple or other tart, low GI apple 3-10 kale leaves (Start with 3 and increase as your tastebuds and belly get used to drinking green juice) Tastes kind of like a grassy lemonade. Also tastes good with an orange added Here is another recipe.. this is my 5 year old nephew's recipe for "spiderman juice" It has less green and more sweet in it and is a good beginner juice.. personally I don't like it very much, but my nephew makes it every day by himself and he and my sister LOVE it. 1 green apple 1 orange 3 carrots 1/2 of small beet (peeled) 2 handfulls of spinach 2 kale leaves..(or as he likes to call it.. "the super secret ingredient")

want to start over on here

INot everyone is going to like you and you can't make yourself crazy trying to get people to like you since these people are probably not worth it anyway. There are some people on this forum who I don't particularly like, and there are some who don't like me either. No biggie.

    taking a laptop?

I took mine. MiDoctor has a safe but it wouldn't fit my laptop in it.. My coordinator in mexico held my laptop for me while I was in surgery.

Rice @ 10 days post op

Rice is said to be especially hard on the sleeve. I wouldn't go there at only 10 days out. Can you have eggs yet? if so, go have a scrambled egg with hot sauce.. if you aren't allowed eggs yet, then have some chicken broth with hot sauce in it.

    When can you shake?

I was on clears for a week following my surgery.

how long did you surgery last

Sleeve only... about 35 minutes. Easy surgery, small liver and much less visceral fat than would have been expected at my BMI.

    help

What is your highest weight, surgery weight, current weight, goal weight.... How many calories a day are you eating? Are you tracking your calories are you getting in your protein? Are you exercising? Are you grazing? Are you drinking your calories? Do you still feel restriction? What does your nutritionist say? Do you have metabolic problems?
  22. That ranking page is sponsored by MBC the company that Valenzuela/Cabrera coordinate through. NOW, that said, I loved Valenzuela/Cabrera they were great doctors, have good training, and I can't recommend them enough.. As for Dr. Kelly, I've never seen anyone on here with a bad experience with his actual surgery, but there's been a lot of drama and gossip about him in the past. I kind of get the impression he is difficult to work for.... but that wouldn't stop me from using him as my doctor.. I just wouldn't want to work for him.

    carbonated drinks

My instructions were no carbonation for the first six weeks and then after that diet sodas were fine as long as they felt comfortable in the sleeve.
  24. SerendipityHappens

Be honest - does anyone regret the surgery?

LOL, 70 pounds of that was lost BEFORE SURGERY! I am a slow loser.. likely because I did lose so much before I had the surgery!

    Extra large stomach organ

Mine wasn't to the extreme that yours seems to have been, but yes, my stomach was much larger than would be expected of a person of my height. It was also LONG.. so because of that, my sleeve can hold more volume than many other people. The doctor used a 32 bougie and created a nice tight sleeve for me, but ain't nuttin' they can do about the length.. It really shouldn't make a difference overall though.. when all is said and done, my sleeve will be able to hold maybe an ounce or two more than a typical sleever...
