Vegetarian diet - is this impossible post-OP
indian replied to chaya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
"so I make thicker daal (lentils). Or, I eat more of it. I also sometimes mix daal with subji (veggies) and dahi (yogurt) to give it a thicker consistency, and more substance." My nut told me the same thing yesterday. Thick daals would do the trick. -
Very in-depth and informative.

Take 1/2 tsp of oil or no oil in a non stick frying pan. Saute some cumin seeds and Asafoetida powder. Add some finely cut onions, green chillies(finely cut) and ginger julienne. Saute till soft. Mix some red chilly powder and turmeric powder and saute some more. Mix grated moist home-made or market low fat cheddar cheese. Put salt and dried raw mango powder(amchur). Saute for one or two minutes. Add a tsp or tbsp of water if needed. Don't overcook. Transfer to bowl. Oil should be used very sparingly, otherwise, all taste will be lost. Eat as a meal or with a bread slice. Enjoy.

Please replace Cheddar Cheese with Cottage Cheese. The ingredients are basic Asian Spices available from any indian store or web.

Really dont understand why do you need bariatric surgery. I think if you just go on post op Surgery diet, you would achieve the goals. In addition to Puja's tips take lots of egg whites if possible. They are a great help in suppressing hunger. -

I am a vegetarian. Even the best hi-Protein vegetarian foods have only 10-15% Proteins and 70% carbs (Beans, milk, legumes, cheese) and quite substantial fat too. Any suggestions for hi-protein vegetarian foods with low carbs and low fats. Thanks in advance for your kind suggestions.

4 months post op calories and weight loss
indian replied to danic-j's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can easily take 400 ml at a time 1, 1/2 months post op. Is it normal ? -
I agree with ROM. Slightly more carbs and you will crave them so much, it will be the same back to hell story before op. Pl take minimum carbs, good carbs, complex carbs. Otherwise, their cravings will overwhelm you and your weight loss.
