found a tolerable clear liquid protein.
indian replied to katikati's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I take "ON's" "Platinum Hydro Whey". Very easy to mix and their choclate flavour is great. Only 140 calories for 30 gms of protein. Slightly expensive though. -
Can Protein Powders increase your Alkaline Phosphate Levels
indian posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Before VSG I had fatty liver and Alkaline Phosphate Levels of 150 +. One month after surgery it came down to 120. I started having Protein shakes (Platinum Hydro whey - 30 gms Proteins per day). After 3 months, it has again risen to 150+. All other reports are normal. Is something wrong with me ? Thanks for your responses in advance. -
Sleeve holds too much food

Your sleeve is a roaring success. Although as compared to me I am amazed how you are full with 1, 1/2 eggs ! I think my sleeve is much bigger than you ! -

Even I said that one or two egg yolks daily are all you should have, but to up your protein intake you can safely take more egg whites. They have 3 grams of protein each with less than 20 calories in an egg white and they give quite a decent feeling of saturation for a long time. -

If I am correct, it contains too much fat. You can have as many egg whites as you like but only 1 egg yolk per day safely. -
I am not sure about potatoes !

Buddy, I have felt the same and I am 3 months out. When you get to solid stage, there will be some respite in hunger. But do measure your food and do not eat egg yolk. -
Is losing 5% of your weight on surgery every month normal or less !
indian posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was 375 lbs on the day of surgery. I have lost 57 lbs in 3 months. That amounts to 19 lbs per month i.e. 5% of my starting weight every month. Don't you think it is quite less than the average weight lost as reported on this site by fellow members ? What could I be doing wrong ? -

Thanks ladies. I am worried that post surgery I am losing quite slower than other people here. But thanks for your kind words. The Gamer and I seem to be in the same boat. But her achievement seems to be greater. I salute you ! Shouldn't people whose starting weight is in 300s be more than those whose starting weight was in 200s ? -

I am a bit slow ! -
I read this exercise somewhere which has helped me. Stretch your neck upwards towards ceiling as much as you can. Then keeping the tension in your neck, open and close your lower jaw. Also Try to look behind you once from left and once from right. Repeat 10-20-30 times.

It is definitely doable. Dont delay it by even a day !

I think yes if properly steamed and then mashed with a form/spoon. How your system reacts will be the best way to judge, I think !

New sleeve but iit doesnt feel restricted
indian replied to cyncitygirl's topic in Food and Nutrition
Should I be able to drink 4oz of Soup and feel satufied and not overly full? It seems like I am able to eat more than others my same timeline (week and a half out). I can drink lots of Water without any bad feeling. I sip and not gulp but I can do sip after sip. Anyone have initial confusion with what the feeling was asking (hunger, full or thirsty)? I worry I am able to drink too much:0/ I just ate a cup of egg drop soup with no problem. I have this feeling all the time. In my 80 days of post op, I have not not-tolerated any thing at all. Lots of liquids I can take. It is only with solids that I feel full some times. I guess Mr Butterthebean's suggestion : "The good news is, in time you'll be able to measure with your eyes much more accurately, and you won't need the scale all the time. I still use my scale and/or a measuring cup almost everyday, but most of the time it's merely as a back up so I don't slip into any bad habits of putting too much food on my plate and then forcing myself to finish them. The urge to clean my plate has always been strong with me.....thanks Mom and Dad." is best. Thanks Mr Butterthebean.
