What question do you hate the most...
Infaith replied to CambronKD's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I love explaining to people that the band does not alter my digestive system. I'm with Cambron though....I dont' know why that question bugs me..."So when you lose your weight do you have it taken out?" But I always tell myself they are just trying to understand. -
Thank you all! It's so fun to Celebrate with others going the same journey. Jack, now that I work different hours, maybe I can meet you guys during the week during the daytime hours. I have off Thursdays and Fridays and every other Wednesday.

Yay Heather....that means you're headed my way!! A bit North of me in Eugene, but not really that far. So cool!
-
Mayra, It WILL be a better experience this trip and for all others afterward!
-
Congratulation Teresa!! You're doing so great. Keep up the good work!
-
Hi Teresa, I would love to you meet up with you and Tracey (and the new baby), but I'm working nights so I'll be at work then. My schedule is 6:45 pm to 7:15 am Sun, Mon, Tues and every other Wed (this will be my long week). Thanks for the invite! Hope all is well with you. Tell Tracey hi for me. Darcey

Just want to thank you all. I started a new job working nights and with the new schedule and being nervous I had a hard time with eating and found myself PBing quite a bit. My day off I figure I'll be okay with eating, but my throat was tender and my chest hurt and I would burp a lot even drinking my Propel water. Even herb tea would not pass without pain. Scared me, but I read on here about trying Aloe Juice so thought it can't hurt to try. Picked up some this morning and took the 2 oz. Been sipping water, tea and a protein soy drink all day and have been feeling so much better!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Special thanks to you Kelly!!!! Hugs and many blessings to you! Kathy-Yes, I do like my job and the new schedule. Just trying to get used to it. I now work from 6:45 pm to 7:15 am Sun, Mon, Tues and every other Wed. Luckily my first week I got the short week so I'm having a 4 day weekend right now! Yay! Job is very interesting. Think it's going to work well once the eating issues are worked out. Thanks!

Oh Crystal....this is my son's favorite site on the web! Couple of years ago, I had him and 3 of his friends in the car and all were doing their own favorite bit from homestarrunner. I was in tears from laughing!

Thank you Greg. You can count me in too! I think this is so important to give respect, recognition and thanks to all those to have and do serve our country. So many take our freedom for granted and don't realize how much others have sacrificed for the good of all.

Praise GOD! Isn't HE awesome? When my son's Crohn's went into remission (after 2 years of pain and lots of meds), I couldn't (and still can't) say enough about how much GOD has done for us. I am so happy for you!

Had yearly blood work done and got the results back from my doc today. Total Cholesterol-down 28 mg HDL Cholesterol (Good stuff)-up 7 mg LDL Cholesterol (Bad stuff)-down 30 mg Triglycerides-down 65 mg And a little note from the doctor saying "Inspiring! Great!" Last year at this time, my levels were high enough she wanted to put me on medication to treat it. I didn't do it....I know stubborn. Did NOT want to be on more meds. Needless to say, this help boost my spirits today. Praise God!

Scared. Is my lapband slipping or am I getting a hernia?
Infaith replied to Nykee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Nykee-YES, call Dr. Martinez or Dr. Oritz NOW! That's why they give us those numbers. -
Sorry....I'm single and banded, but not dating (and haven't for quite some time) so don't have any advice to give. Figure I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Let me know if you come up with any of your own!!

Hi Tina, I am fortunate that I have a supportive mom for my lapband (she cried with happiness when I told her I made the decision to get one...she has been so worried about my health). BUT a dear young friend of mine had a lot of questions and didn't understand. He considers me a very strong person and I guess I am in a lot of ways, but I explained to him that it took me a very long time (years in fact) to ask for this kind of help. After 20 years of being obese, I had to humble myself that I couldn't do this without major help....for me it was my band and I am so thankful for it. Wish you all the best. It's so hard when it's out parents, isn't it?

What's Your Favorite Type of Pet?
Infaith replied to donali's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My little fur baby is an 11 month old mini dachshund named Angel. She is black & tan and was the runt of the litter. She's 8 pounds, fast as lightning, spoiled rotten and I love her dearly. As soon as I get my scanner hooked up with this computer I will post pics. When Penni gets back, maybe she can give some instructions on posting pics without having to click on attachments? Pretty please? -
This is such an individual thing. But personally I've had 2 fills without flouro by a naturopathic physician with no problems (and no pain besides feeling like a little bee sting on the first one, but not the second time). From what I've read here, my physician is fairly agressive since I'm at 2.5 after only 2 fills and I definitely have restriction this time. I had restriction right from the beginning on the first fill for a while, but was during my period and she said that it can affect a good fill. This 2nd fill feels more like it should. If I thought I was having problems, I would definitely have flouro.

Even though Jenna didn't really win $50,000, it's fun to think of what we might spend it on. I'd would: *buy my son a new car or pickup for his college graduation in June. *buy new living room furniture. *Take my mom on a great trip (although air fare would be cheap as my sister is an airline attendant!) *Have a landscaper come in a totally fix up my huge yard with an underground sprinkling system, pergola over my deck and beautiful full flowerbeds. Ooops....ran out of money!

Well.....just had my administrator sign my extended 1 year leave of absence so I can embark on a new adventure! I will be working for Hynix Semiconductor Manufacturing. I've worked in an office sitting on my butt waaaaaaayyy too long. Now I will be suiting up in a clean suit (they call it a bunny suit....but it looks like a space suit). I will be working in the manufacturing of Dynamic Random Access Memory or DRAM. Anyway, it's a total change of pace for me and I'm very excited. Will start April 25th for a week orientation and then will find out my shift. They work 12 hour shifts, 3 days on-4 days off, then the next week, 4 days on-3 days off. Anyway, just wanted to share. This whole year has been one of great changes for me and I praise God! I am very thankful for the support and friendship I receive here at LBT. Thanks guys and gals!

WHOOWHEE Crystal! Kicking that inhaler is such an awesome NSV. I deal with asthma and that is such a great feeling isn't it? Then if that wasn't enough....23 inches and running up flights of stairs with backpack on? Keep 'em coming girl!

Feedback on Mexico - Share your stories.
Infaith replied to KarenA's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I'm one of those that had a great experience with getting my lapband in Mexico. -
WHOOWHEE Michelle! That is so cool! You are an inspiration to us all. Congrats on this opportunity AND for being only 15 pounds from goal. When you were first banded....could you imagine any of this just a year later?
-
Alexandra....how do you handle the bubbles in the champagne? Carbonated stuff is the one thing that I haven't even thought about trying. I have had some wine and a margarita (not at the same time) since being banded and it was fine, but it definitely affects me much sooner with a smaller quantity (a good thing) than before.

On the darker blue bar above toward the top of this page...kind of in the middle it's says "chat"....maybe see you there!

Phooey....I missed you. Hopefully next time!
