my husband is month 2 of his 6 months but his GERD is so very bad that he is getting ulcers from the acid. Since the doctor has to fix his hiatal hernia anyways, does anyone think the insurance company would just do it now instead of waiting 4 additional months? Thanks in advance for any advice
  2. My mother in law is really having a hard time getting an approval on Medicaid. Any advice on getting an approval? She has been denied an needs to prepare her appeal. Thanks in advance

Glad others are introducing some foods too. Just had some puréed bean soup. 4 oz fills me right up. I am down about 15 pounds since starting my pre-op diet. I have only 45 more pounds I get to goal so I expect it to go slow. Lost nothing the second week but it ok feeling better everyday:)

Definitely things are getting better. I still am not getting all my liquids in but I have starting eating some cottage cheese and puréed soups and if makes me feel "normal". See my doctor and nut on Wednesday
  9. I am supposed to stay on liquids but h e failed miserably. I am 12 days post op but I started eating puréed foods after 1 week. My body told me I needed to. I was so weak and I could not stomach the protein shakes so I had absolutely no energy. I have been blending soups and eating cottage cheese and I actually have some energy now. I have to see my NUT on Wednesday but I don't know if I should even tell her I haven't been in liquids:(.
  10. Thanks! I called today to make sure this was normal and she said if the shortness of breath gets bad to go to the er. It's not Terrible i just can feel my heart beating out of my chest lol. She said to try different protein shakes but they just make me want to vomit! I puréed some cottage cheese and that will be a little protein anyways. I think I will try warming some hot water with lemon and maybe that will go down better. Hope your doing better
  11. I am on day 6. Surgery on the 18th. Do you think I could try some cottage cheese? I'm just weak from no protein because I cannot stomach them anymore...
  12. I know I feel like I would feel better if I could eat something!! The protein drinks are so gross to me. Every single kind. I have tried so many and they are so bad!
  13. I feel like it always going to be painful to eat...
  14. I'm on day 6 post op and I don't feel much better today than any other day. My inductions are fine I am just still having a hard time getting anything down. They fixed my hyatial hernia but others on here don't seem to have the problems . I just wanna feel good again. I'm supposed to go back to work tomorrow but just taking a shower leaves me short of breath and exhausted. Please someone tell me it gets better ....
  15. I too was sleeved on Monday and am finding it very difficult to get any protein in. The supplements I got from my nut make me sick just smelling them. I can drink chocolate milk ( even though I shouldn't be) and I bought some baby food but I cannot stomach those chocolate shakes and gelatin. How bad is it if I cannot get my protein in? And the gas......omg don't get me started!
