Co-workers are starting to notice weight loss!
ashelaine replied to greygirl903's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 8 months out- only my parents, fiancé, his parents and a few other family members know. My kids do not know. My response has been- I eat clean- always have my protein first, then veggies then carbs and I follow portion sizes. And that I exercise every day. I am not one to blast a lot of pictures on Facebook- I have 3 kids and a cute dog for people to look at lol. I took a picture with my almost step daughter on July 4th- it's almost a full body shot. I put 5-6 other pictures on Facebook that day as well and I have been getting messages from sooo many girls wondering what I've done. (Mostly the ones that "think they're fat"- ie my college roommate who maybe weighs 140 soaking wet, or a friend from high school or my BFF's older sister). -

Here is a crazy pic I took today while digging through an old box- I came across a skirt that was too tight for me to wear to a wedding reception last year. -

Ok- I thought I had gotten rid of all of my starting weight clothes. I was digging through a bag trying to find something for a friends daughter and stumbled across a skirt. This skirt was too tight for me to wear to my soon to be husbands cousins wedding reception last October. It is a 22. -

I have had to up my calories to 1100 to maintain (my wedding is Saturday and I couldn't get my dress altered 1000 times- so with my doctors approval I went into maintenance briefly). I've still lost a couple pounds but it has been very sporadic. (160-158). I'm 4'11 and weighed 158 this morning. Wearing a medium and size 10. -

I still weigh every day. I don't stress about it- it's just habit. -

I've lost 90lbs in 7.5 months. NINETY! I will tell you from about month 4 to now I have followed the same 'lovely' pattern. AF (seriously- I had gone 3 years with our having one every month bc of an IUD and I have had one like clock work every single freaking month- not fair) lose 7-10lbs stall for 3 weeks. Have AF lose 7-10lbs the next week stall for 3 weeks. I've even bounced up a couple pounds in there- but I always net a 7-10lb loss. The first two months I thought I was broken- but it has been clockwork and it's apparently just how my body likes to lose. -

I don't know where exactly you are- but I know of a great Doc in DFW. My moms BFF had RNY years ago- and had plastics after- this same doc did my best friend from High schools boob job and has now done a tummy tuck on my grown up best friend. He's ridiculously amazing. -
Average loss with the sleeve is 60% of excess weight?!?!
ashelaine replied to Nicolanz's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm 4'11". I started at 248. I'm now at 158. My goal is 135. I have lost 79.6% of my weight. I'm almost 8 months out. I've got the next 23lbs! I will kick their butt! My cousin is 18 months out and has maintained 105lbs lost for the last 8 months. -
Yeah. The first words out of my mouth were it hurts. I was begging for pain meds. I had a big hiatal hernia that wasn't seen on my egd that was repaired during surgery. I have a pretty high pain tolerance (I've had my kids no drugs and say it wasn't that bad)- this sucked. That being said almost 8 months later I would go through it over and over again to have the results I've achieved. My health is so vastly improved!

I'm almost 8 months out- I've gone from a 22 and 2x to a 10 and a medium. The smaller you get- the more quickly you drop sizes. It's hard for me to step back and realize how small I have gotten. I'm realizing that I my large frame I've always said I've had is really more medium. I'm 4'11" but I'm far from petite- I have wide hips and a LARGE bust. My measurements are 44(around the fullest part of my bust- im a 36 band)-32-44. I hit send too soon! I got talked down to a few months ago when I went into torrid. It was my fav store and no one recognized me! And they all asked if I was sure I knew what sizes they carried. That was the day I realized it was over. I shop at a few local boutiques (on clearance of course!) and then get my staples from basic stores. Jeans are hard for me- but I've had good luck with old navy's sweetheart fit. It's trial and error. You have to go in and say- ok- I know not every brand fits the same. I may need a 12 or I may squeeze in an 8- who knows. I was able to fit in a size small dress the other day at kohls- just because of the way it was cut. I don't want to be some tiny stick- I'd be perfectly happy to look like Kelly brook though! Or any of the super awesome British models!

Gone from size 24 to 16 and no one seems to notice? What about you?
ashelaine replied to Johanna1955's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've gone from a 22 to a 10 and I have only had 2 people mention that I've lost weight. People don't want to be awkward. Most people just assume I've been eating less and working out because of my wedding- I'm getting married next Saturday. -

I'm with you! I'm 4'11- and I haven't had csections- but I've had 3 kids- the last one being a monster. And my poor poor bf'ing boobies . My goal is 130ish because of my build. I honestly may stop before that. But I will definitely need a tummy tuck. -

Nov Sleevers... What's Your Status?

I just hit 90lbs lost. I'm so mindblown. I was hit on at lunch today while with my stepdaughter and my good friend. It was crazy. That has never happened. I met my husband at my heaviest and its funny seeing his reaction as I change. I'm wearing a size 10 and a small/medium depending on the brand. I will try things on and look and think there's no way that will fit and then it does and looks cute. -
MY HAIR IS FALLING OUT!
ashelaine replied to shelly13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've lost about 1/3 of my thickness- I'm 7.5 months out and I'm FINALLY starting to see if slowing down. My cousin lost from month 3-9. And now at 18 months post op is starting to have normal hair again . -
one week out and have itchy rash in stomach

Add me to the list. Benadryl and hydrocortisone cream are what my dr suggested. -
Does your doctor have any raw fruit/veggie restrictions? Mine didn't. I puréed a banana and it was like heaven at that moment! I adore watermelon and since it's mostly fluids- I say go for it- if your surgeon doesn't restrict raw fruits/veggies.
