I come from a long line of big boobed big hipped women. At my smallest I was a 36DDD. I was a 42F... Currently I'm hanging out at a 38G. Yay for bigger boobs- where's that sarcastic font when you need it? I've had and nursed 2 kiddos. We are hoping to try again in 2 years but after that- I will definitely be looking into a lift.

TMI ? REGARDING GIRL TALK
ashelaine replied to Julieann87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It didn't happen to me- but I have heard its common. All the excess fat we are losing contains a bunch of estrogen. That influx of estrogen can really mess with the cycle. I will say since surgery I have had a period like clockwork- after almost 3 years of not having one it's rather sad (I had an IUD put in after my son was born). -
Yes. The pain in the diaphragm killed me. I have a really high pain tolerance (had 2 kids no drugs). I woke up in recovery and went please this hurts. It got better day 2 though.

November 2012 sleevers how are you doing ?
ashelaine replied to cnunez77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved 11/13. I've lost 41lbs as of this morning. I've hit two stalls. I had one at 2 weeks out that lasted for 2 weeks and then 6 weeks until now. Super fun- but they are part of the process. I've made a promise I'm going to log my stuff into myfitnesspal -
How long until after surgery can I walk my dog?
ashelaine replied to AdeptDreamer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I walked my 75lb German shepherd 1 week after surgery. She's generally a pretty decent walker- but she likes to stop and smell too much. -
Anyone with surprises at their endoscopy?
ashelaine replied to Im done mooing.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I definitely did not have a surprise like that- but, I did find out that I had a HUGE hernia. It was repaired in the surgery and that was that. I really hope that you get it all figured out and that everything is ok! Keep us updated! -
I hit send too soon- I have it up 2 days before surgery. I will admit to one sip two weeks ago. I am not going to lie. It was delicious. So I made myself stop. My dr ok's it after 8 weeks. But- I know it's empty calories.

Oh... Dr Pepper was my drug of choice. I gave it up 2 days before surgery.

In a stall and FREAKING OUT!
ashelaine replied to Lauren610's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My 'three week stall' hit at 2.5 weeks and didn't lose an ounce- the scale actually went up twice- for 2 weeks. Then I dropped 5lbs over night. Just try and keep your protein high and keep your fluid intake up and the scale will go. BTW- I had lost 26lbs when mine hit and I'm currently in another stall and have been since Christmas. It sucks- but it's all part of the process -
I honestly can not throw up now. My kids brought me home the stomach bug. I say in the bathroom and just heaved. Nothing will come up. My surgeon called in something to take and it made the nausea go away.

They found a hernia while doing my sleeve. That part if the surgery hurt MUCH worse than my sleeve and I was ok to go after say 4. I went to my 9 year old step daughters last soccer game that day and walked up and down the sidelines. I was up to shopping after that and had a good day.

Breastfeeding Post-Op
ashelaine replied to C_TimesThree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm glad I saw this. I think you will be ok-I'm sure you and he are both motivated to do whatever it takes. You could always take fenugreek or drink mothers milk tea to keep you're supply if it starts to dwindle. Good luck! I have ebf'ed 2 kiddos and hope to have a 3rd in 2 years and will hopefully be able to ebf baby 3! -
Tell me your recent NSV!
ashelaine replied to Boofster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started 7 weeks ago in a tight 20- should have been a 22. Tuesday- I tried on a pair of 14's and they fit! Now mind you- they didn't look great- but they were on and zipped with NO muffin top! My ex husband actually asked if I had lost weight (this is the same man who didn't notice when I chopped 9 inches off of my hair). Good times! -
I have a 9,6, and 3 year old- well he will be 3 on Monday. He is STILL not potty trained- we rocked floor diaper changes- I will say I tried it myself at 4 dpo and it HURT. He wasn't cooperating and it was pretty much miserable. But I tried again that Monday and I was fine (3 days later). He is old enough that he could climb and deal with some cuddle time.

Cold medicine
ashelaine replied to SeriouslyChange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you tried the chloraseptic spray? According to my doc everything this winter is hanging around longer than usual- I have 3 sick kids and a sick boyfriend and a sick me. Tylenol multi symptom cold worked well for me -
Feeling very grateful today.....
ashelaine replied to READY TO LOSE IT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Woo hoo! We have the same stats! Feels great, huh? I love my sleeve! I was able to get a pair of 14's on yesterday... Now mind you they did not look fantastic- but I did get them on and zipped with minimal muffin top . Congrats on your loss!! -

ashelaine replied to Fiddleman's topic in Fitness & Exercise

6mo 12day post op 110.1lbs down
ashelaine replied to asherje's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
She looks amazing (even for an Aggie fan) totally kidding! I went to UT so I have to rag a little! She really is amazing! My cousin had her surgery done last December so she has been my role model. She's down 100lbs and is at goal and maintaining . Congrats to you as well! -
I'm not the OP- but I had the same issue. I have crazy sensitive skin. They are all healed nicely now. I did go to the dr and I was told it was a reaction. After two weeks of 1% hydrocortisone cream all was well. I still have one little rash on one part but it is 99.9% gone.

Not tolerating any protein supplement on clear, week one
ashelaine replied to soglav's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I'm 7 weeks post op. I throw up from sip one on every protein drink I have tried. My nut and dr had be start protein bars at 5 weeks. That has been much easier on my tummy. I eat 1/2 a bar in the morning and afternoon for my snacks. It works well and let's me get MUCH closer to my protein goals for the day. -

I have to know, does the hunger/appetite REALLY disappear?
ashelaine replied to Jenny12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 7 weeks out- I get hungry when I should be. It's not necessarily "hunger" it's more- my tummy is empty and I need to eat. It's soo much different. I eat my 2 oz of protein 3 times a day and two snacks- and I'm content. Which is seriously amazing- I was a bottomless pit pre- sleeve. I mean really- I could out eat my boyfriend (an ex college fb player!!) -
Is it possible to find true love?
ashelaine replied to Capricornrose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found it. This one is stuck with me- and I'm stuck with him. Hell- his mom told me even if we split up- she's claiming me. I got married and divorced young. I was in love with the idea of being in love. Now- I can't imagine my life without who I am with now. We compliment each other in every aspect- and have the best communication I could ever ask for. And I met him at my highest weight. He loves me for me- not for my awesome body.. (why oh why is there not a sarcasm font?!). You will find someone when you least expect it! -
I love me some tamales! I say make some with less masa- more goodies like the PP said... or just eat the insides. So jealous! I need to make more- everyone raved over mine when i made them this summer.
