im beginning to think sleeve surgery is a scam
ashelaine replied to kizzy's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
That's the 2 week stall. I started at 248. (I'm 4'11)- I seriously wanted to shoot my scale- then bam- 5lb loss over night. It takes time for your body to catch up. I promise you the scale will move. -

26lbs rocks! Good for you. You are 4 weeks out and have lost 26 freaking pounds!! That is 6.5lbs a week! Seriously. Awesome! I lost 23 my first month- I had a two week period where the scale decided to quit moving. Not nice, but it works . Just think- could you have lost 6.5lbs in a month without it? I know I couldn't have! -

I'm on my second mirena- the first was put in pre- children. I also know a few people with the paraguard and they all have great things to say about it! -

Awesome job . We are almost sleeve sisters. I put on the capris I wore to the hospital today and joked I could fit my 3 year old in there with me . Congrats on your loss! Glad you are doing so well! -
I would love to know as well. I know of one that meets in Keller pretty regularly? What part of DFW are you in?

I tried on seriously-60 pairs of jeans on New Year's Day. God love my boyfriend. I was able to get a 14 on in 2 brands- yet some brands the 18 wouldn't go up my thighs. Ugh. So frustrating. Try a brand of jeans called source of wisdom- they are a super stretchy material and you should be able to wear them a bit longer than some other jeans. -
Please help ! I need to her something good.

Oh honey- I so feel you! I dry heaved basically the whole time I was awake for 3 days. I quit taking my pain meds and it got better. It hurt so bad to heave, but day 4 it got better! Good luck! -

November 2012 sleevers how are you doing ?
ashelaine replied to cnunez77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved 11/13- down 45lbs. HW:248. I don't really watch carbs too much- just try to limit them a bit- I'm not going to go out and have a bowl of pasta (although I did have 1 bite of lasagna a week ago). I am determined to lose these last 4lbs before onederland by next Friday (my birthday). It's been my goal from the get-go. I have the flu now so I haven't really been able to work out for the last day or two. But it has helped with weightloss- lol. -

I try to watch the carbs that I eat, but I don't have a magic carb number I stay below. I've lost 45lbs in 8 weeks. Not magical, but I'm happy. I started at 248 and I'm determined to lose the last 3lbs to onederland before my birthday. -
Patiently Waiting!

I used a doctor visit and I used a gyno visit. It can even be a weight watchers weigh in or Jenny Craig or whatever. They just need proof this isn't a recent occurrence. -
OMG Did I just screw everything up?
ashelaine replied to mysunflower621's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We talked about NSAID use post op at my follow up appt on Monday. Basically the internist said European studies are showing no harm (since they can actually test for things that might hurt people). He also said that if you suffered no ill effects pre-op, it is highly unlikely you will suffer them post op. I have to take NSAIDs and steroids fairly often- this is the reason I chose the sleeve over the other WLS options out there. -
Sounds awesome! We could definitely share!

It's right by San Angelo high stadium and bobcat stadium on knickerbocker (I'm 99% sure)

I weigh every morning. I don't stress, but it's habit. It keeps me in check.
-
I literally just spit my water out! Amazing! Zintner's is pretty amazing. And you could totally enjoy some steak! If you order the KC- it will feed twice the amount if people it says non-op. you would have meat for weeks now lol

My dads family is from junction. My grandma and dad worked at zintner's daughters (my grandma for years and my dad through high school)

I wear the wacoal brand of sports bras. They sell them in store at Dillard's. I can't remember if Nordstrom has them in store? But they work really well for me.

Shortness=slower weight loss?
ashelaine replied to selbradey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the muscle mass vs actual height. I played softball and lifted weights for years so I have quite a bit of muscle mass. My boyfriend jokes I could probably kick his butt- which is funny considering he's an ex college football player and could snap me in half. I started at 248 and this morning I was 206.2. I will take 42 lbs in 8 weeks. Although I have the flu now and can hardly keep anything down so we will see how that number changes. -
After watching my sister and cousin have severe complications from the band- I'm pretty anti band. My sister almost died at age 29. She also never made it to goal despite not being able to eat ANYTHING for months. Nor did my cousin. The risks are not worth the reward. The after-care costs can get ridiculous. Especially if you are self pay. Even with insurance- they generally won't pay for a second surgery if you need one.

My boyfriend tells me I have converted him to the 'dark side'- he's a total boob man now.y nickname at one point was tits McGee. Oh good times . At least they still look great in a bra! I'm pretty anti lane Bryant bras- but their new French something or other bra is pretty awesome. It fit better than most of the ones I have tried at Nordstrom and the specialty bra shop

I use this stuff. My mil has used it for years. It is 0 carbs and works well for me.
