Im 5 days post op..
ashelaine replied to kfuller716's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's a proton pump inhibitor- think Prevacid, nexium, Prilosec. -
It all depends on where the weight comes off and how you are built. I have huge hips and a smaller waist and big 'up tops'. I've lost two pant sizes- yet depending on the brand and the way jeans are cut- I can't get them over my hips. Even at the same stores- same brands- different cuts just don't go.

PPI. or protein shake. It will get better- I swear! 2 months out and my head hunger has gone away almost entirely. Just be strong! Or- try drinking some G2 or something different than what you have been drinking? maybe change things up? -
Do I really need to go to the ER...?
ashelaine replied to Keepgoing247's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Go to huguley medical center (I recognized the zip- I have a bunch of family in Joshua)! They were able to find out what was wrong with my cousins band. And BTW- no ER can turn you away for not being able to pay. -
I've had it twice now! LOVE IT! I've only eaten one piece both times- once at Hibachi and once at Texas De Brazil.

Do I really need to go to the ER...?
ashelaine replied to Keepgoing247's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Think of it this way: If you go now- you won't have to pay for the PCP visit tomorrow- because odds are- she will just send you to the ER or an urgent care clinic for fluids at least. GO NOW!!! -

Other things done while VGS in Mexico
ashelaine replied to whatwillBwillB's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Being in Texas and my dads family is only 90 miles from the border they go across a LOT. In fact all of their dental work was done in MX. One uncle had implants put in- $1000. Which is about 1/5 of what it is here. -
I haven't had the issue.

I'm doing awesome other than having the flu my sweet 6 year couldn't wait to share with me. But I'm actually feeling much better today. You look amazing! I'm going to have the boyfriend take a pic of the capris tonight- because I actually was able to fit my 3 year old in there with me lol. -
I bake cupcakes for a living (well- I'm a stay at home mom, but I bake for extra money). One of my best friends birthday was jan 5th and mine is Friday. I made red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing. I had one bite. No problems. I could have eaten more, but that bite satisfied my craving and it was fine. I'm with fallenangel- I had this surgery to lead a NORMAL life. A normal life means having a tiny piece of cake on occasion. I have three small kids and hope to have another in a year or two- I can't just live a life of I will NEVER eat such and such again!
-
Yummy! I will get some if those next time I go! I'm 9 weeks out- I've been able to eat half since about 6 weeks out.
-
He's pretty much the best thing to ever happen to me- I'm keeping this one around.

Has anyone lost the weight after VSG without exercise?
ashelaine replied to Jenny12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My cousin had her sleeve 12/21/11- she lost 100lbs and other than chasing around 3 kids- she did no exercise. So it CAN be done. -

My nut says 1 day should be enough. Make the next day lower than usual. -

ashelaine replied to kizzy's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I keep telling myself it took me 18 years to gain all the weight it will take a while to come off- I'm at 204 as of this morning. That is 44lbs in almost 9 weeks. I will take it! You got this! -
Oh no! Are you sure it's not the flu? It's been rampant here in TX- I happened to be the lucky 2nd recipient of the nastiness. It hit my 6 year old first. Theraflu maybe? I hope you feel much better!
