Not Telling People....
SweetSaso replied to JPSnAZ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have not told anyone other than my husband, my mommy in law and parents, plus one of my aunts and that is only because my parents are overseas... I chose not to tell everyone because in our community this surgery is looked at as a cosmetic surgery rather than a major surgery that will help me become healthy. Plus i did not want any negative comments because people tend to tell me that am not fat and i need to stop worrying about my weight and they would think that this surgery is an easy way out for me. Another major thing that made me not tell everyone is that the majority of my cousins are a bit overweight and if they knew that i had such surgery they would annoy their parents for one and the parents would annoy me for being a bad influence on their daughters (what is so bad about being healthy?)...this has happened before when i went to medical weight loss clinic and told everyone about how am losing weight, so not going to repeat that... I hate drama. Good luck on your surgery. -

Anyone Gained hight after weigh loss?
SweetSaso replied to SweetSaso's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for your response and yes you are right i have quoted some things i have found doing some research... also some say that doing yoga and other types of stretching can help the bones stretch because they have been pulled down for so long by weight... Another thing i found is that bones keep growing until the age 25, so there is a chance that while loosing weight iam still getting taller since am only 20... am content with how tall i am its just something i have been noticing. Thank you for your kind reply and good luck on your journey. -

Well, thank you gillopez for your thorough answer, it really helped me understand a lot about what is going on due to weight loss... your answer is truly appreciated. Well anyhow i haunted for an answer somewhere else and i got one answer that goes a little more in depth thank just "NO" on http://easy-4growtaller.blogspot.com/ They say: Another answer i got and i will quote is: Yea i could have just research in the beginning, but the thing is i have a very slow connection here and takes a long time for pages to load, i just thought answers on here might save me some time -
Hello everyone! P.S- I am not writing this topic to be mean or anything, am just trying to make a picture clear since the error i see here does hurt sometimes. This topic does not have anything about weight loss but It is about an issue that i have seen in many posts. As you should all know by now, that people from different parts of earth have joined this forum, people of different colors and different religions... WE ARE NOT ALL CHRISTIANS. I am not christian but i follow a religion that has a god that i pray to. I respect all religions and as to christians i have tons of christian friends actually my bestie is a christian, my cousin married a christian. But see...Sometimes i feel that on this forum only christians are to pray and to give support. I will give some examples to specific sentences in posts that made me think like this. I wont give direct quotes so that i dont call anyone out. I am having the surgery on (bla, bla day) and i wanted to ask all the fellow christian sleevers to pray for a speedy recovery. (well why wont you just ask all the sleevers to pray for you, do i have to be a christian to pray?) If you are a christian, you know what to do. Just pray and everything will be better. (Well am not a christian and i also know that praying is the key) i wish all the christians a happy thanksgiving (we also Celebrate it!!!) etc...etc Too many examples very short time... I am not being mean and i know that this error is not intended... I just want everyone to please review what you type before publishing just so you are not leaving anyone out of the equation. Learn to love all religions because not everyone is a christian, and i would love to pray for you for a great recovery and thank you happy thanksgiving to you too. We are all here to support each other no matter what color/religion we are... its about the support!!

Nothing to do with weight loss :)
SweetSaso replied to SweetSaso's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well hun, first of all.. please when i post with RESPECT please reply with RESPECT or dont reply at all, i will continue to talk with RESPECT and will not use the same tone you used to reply. And as to why i only mentioned christians well i have nothing against anyone and i RESPECT all religions as i already stated above but i have been on here for almost two months and over that period i have read numerous threads but there is no way for me to read alll the thousands of threads on here, and within what i read this is what i had seen. Even if you dont care if you offend me, i will take it as an offense and reply back with RESPECT... because this is what i have learned from my religion, my christian friends and all religions. And i would wish you the best of luck but well my wishes are not appreciated you'd only take support and good well wishes from those who understand you best and from same faith. -

Oh wow, being skinny has been my all time dream... I want to be able to wear a tight dress to a party and feel good in it. I want to always be sexy in my husbands eye and i want him to be proud to call me his. I want to stop making fun of my fat body to hide my misery in front of my skinny friends. I want to wear a small sized shirt and brag about it. I want to follow fashion with confidence that i rock anything i wear. -
Is it worth all this? (Sleeved 9/13, then stent, then?)
SweetSaso replied to Starlight2574's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Am so sorry you are feeling this way, But things have to get better!!! Time heals everything... Things may have been rough for you but why dont you look at the bright side of the issue, its true you are suffering but it is only temporary and by having this surgery you avoided the possibility to have permanent issues and you will lose weight and make your daughter proud and live longer for your daughter. Take it easy, everything will eventually get better!! Good luck -

Oh believe me am right there with you!!! I was sleeved on nov 7th and everything was going great and i was losing weight and all is well until one week ago, i had my period and 3 days after along came the flu... high fever, coughing, sneezing everything you can imagine. I too have no appetite but i make myself eat because i have been at a stall for a week now, didn't even lose a pound which make me very depressed and on the edge of crying. Oh anyways, i just wanted to let you know that you are not alone... i dont take Vitamins because they also make me vomit so i just stopped them right after i started them. Try to keep your head up and be strong (well, this is what i have been advising myself for the past week) it is just a phase and it will go...

I just realized that i am at a stall and ive been the same weight for a week, how encouraging

Dont be hard on yourself, your body is still adjusting to ur new stomach... just give yourself time and start measuring yourself because i have noticed that when i am not losing weight, am losing inches!! Keep us updated. (BTW i currently live in the middle east and most of the food i eat has carbs and am still losing weight, just be careful to not overdo it)... -
Gas after new food
SweetSaso replied to thankful16's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good Morning and congrats on the surgery!!! Dont worry most of us go through that during the healing process... I am one month post op and until today i am afraid to eat the simplest things because of the gas pains i get after including hiccups and burping that can become very embarrassing, but it is normal during the first couple month (i asked my doctor)... Hope you get well soon and know that it is just for a short time. -
The only reason I love the word hubby is because It sounds a lot like the word we use to say "My Love" in my first language (ARABIC)...so for me when i am calling my husband hubby, it is like saying "My Love"...

Hi all, i hope everyone is doing AWESOME!! I was curious about something and thought i'd ask if i am not alone As i have been reading posts on here and following some people who are almost the same weight i started (230 lb) and i am 5,5 and i notice something different with almost everyone who was the same weight and hight as i am they say that they wore sizes 18-20 jeans while i wore sizes 10-12!!! I am just curious about why is there that much difference between pant sizes?? and even tops i always wore sizes Medium and Large nothing bigger... This might be a worthless topic for some but it might mean something for me just want to see if someone started at almost the same weight and wore the same sizes as me and what was there size after they lost 80 or so pounds. Sorry for this waste of the time topic but i hope to get some answers back thank you
-
Thank you all for your great replies, it gives me an understanding of were i stand... my doctor has already told me before that i was thick boned but i didn't put 1+1 together... maybe thats the case with me.
