Still waiting... Going nuts... Call every day 2-3 times a day have asked for supervisors and the supervisors supervisor.... No call..... cust service just says sorry still pending ill log in to have someone call you... Sigh... Giving up hope... I had found out last week that the case worker was trying to reach the HCG physician doc so I called her and she called him last Friday (next day) after I lit the fire for her to call as I thought that was the delay... Still nothing... The date on my file said they had until the 7th to get back to me.... It's now the 18th awesome!? Just out I options and cannot believe how unperfessional it is... Also no help or response from my surgery coordinator.. She called me in dec saying she would try to reach someone as they contact a diff dept.....that is faster.... Nuthing....

Thank you for the responses and tips... I called again today and asked specific questions about timeline/deadlines and what the policies are.... I asked her if they refrigerated every time they ask/receive more info they request... She said it has been 27 days since the clinical notes from the dr... Came in... They have 45 days... To complete or I can file complaint... She said I should be hearing something soon, but who knows... At least there is a timeline we are both aware of that I now know about... Thanks... I guess I will continue to wait... Oh and so far no new info needed ...

I call every day and speak to someone.. It was the supervisor that said to me it's delayed with holidays and everyone trying to get approved before end of the year.....it was escalated to level three supervisor because of this outstanding time.. They needed things here and there along the way but the sup on Friday told me he has reviewed everything this far but the 6 month diet stuff on file... He promised to let me know if anything else needed but as of now nothing.... I'm so tired of waiting and feel like this is totally unacceptable!

Thank you dr responding.. Submitted back in sept... Just figured I would have an answer by now. 3 1/2 months! I did my diet so didn't have to do that got them everything they asked for? And nothing call everyday ... Now it escalated to a level 3 as my case worker has said it would be done soon and then weeks go by.. Supervisor called me Friday and said he just needs to review my diet clinical notes and receipts etc... Several pages....so just waiting impatiently.. Of coarse will not be getting the surgery if approved before the end of the year... First let down...now just hoping for approval ASAP...so I can schedule when they can get me in...I'm sure Jan is filing up fast... Anyway thanks again... Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or have been told holidays = delays...

It does seem like forever!! I have had to get them things along the way which triggers more days allowed for them to get back to me ....last item submitted that was needs (3 weeks ago) I said if I fav it that day is it going I further delay me and she said no??!!! Apparently that was not the case.. Hoping... And waiting....

I have bcbs of al and that was my last of the 10 things they said was missing so I had my PCP send it over then she says there is only one... I said we'll I only went to that dr once in 2009... So she had me get a letter from PCP saying I only went once??????? Tedious if you asked but I did what they asked and still awaiting...? Its been 1 week since faxing letter but since End of Sept. since 1st submitting.... How bout you??

Can anyone share how much it cost to go to dr alverez and or a dr in Mexico.... For everything?? Approx??Looking at plan b if my insurance falls through...I know going here on self pay can be 18-25k out of pocket .... Just curious to what Alverez and others charge ? Is room, flight, surgery, Ramon and hospital stay included in once big price??

Good luck to all of you!!! Fingers crossed and trying to stay positive... Update my insurance coordinator who dropped off the face of the earth ....emails me today...saying she left me a message Friday (lies) on the first letter of missing info the insurance sent a month ago...lol I called her back immediately and shared that I have been getting the insurance what they need as they needed all items directly from the PCP not her /surgery center... Also that they now have received all of that in addition to 3 more items they were needing since the letter that i faxed!!! She was kinda upset she was out I the loop and I told her that I'm just doing what they are asking and that they said they have tried to reach her....in regards to what they need...anyway, i told her I could really use her help in getting this finished up as it is dragging online sept and that maybe if she can help me call and move it along? She said that sometimes she can call a different person at BCBS who can get this going....I guess we will see!!! Not a lot of hope in her dropping the ball this far..mostly disappointed in this place and its too bad as my friend had went through them and had this awesome experience.... Yes it's through Lowes employment! Last thing I submitted was a letter saying in 2009 I only went to dr once .... And had only one record of my weight ...thank got it was over 40+... I have heard of them accepting pictures when appealing a decision with explanations like if you were dieting or on a medication that allowed your weight to drop below the 40 bmi...etc I've seen some people win the appeal don't give up!!!! Fight fight fight! You all through lowes too?? I wonder if we have the same caseworker! Lol

I have BCBS of Alabama and have been waiting since my surgeon's office submitted my package at the end of September. I call every day and its still in process according to customer service.... I talked to my case worker (about once a week) and she is always saying mine is next to be looked at and then another weeks goes by... I finally asked her why it is taking so long!?? And if there is anything else she needs ill get it to her STAT... She has had me get my PCP to send her some additional items and my NUT and sleep apnea center.... The last thing submitted was 2 weeks ago.. Customer service yesterday said every time I send in something new it re triggers the deadline time for the caseworker to have to be able finish file.... It's funny because the last item that she wanted I asked her halfway annoyed and joking..."is this going to delay my file another week if I get this to you today? She said no ill grab from the fax and finish up file.... Again that was 2 weeks ago... Nothing else I can do but wait ... It's frustrating because here comes the end of the year and I thought for sure I would have an answer by now... I also told her that I hear and read other people's experiences online with same insurance and they get approved anywhere from 24 hours to 2 weeks.... She laughed and said well was it 3 weeks before Xmas? At the busiest time of the year for us? I really don't know if anyone else has had a quick approval with (BCBS of Alabama) specifically from November until now? If you have can you share your story? When you submitted when your approval was given and what is your sleeve date? Were you one of the lucky people that got approved and a date before January 1st!?? Thanks for the long read....
