  1. Hey Bec, welcome. You won't find too many negative comments about VSG here I'm from Bris-vegas as well. On the north side. I think everyone's journey so far has had some stuff the same and some stuff different. Ask away, and I'm sure between us we're likely to have had some exposure to most things. Deano
  2. I'm only 20 weeks out. I don't feel like there's anything I couldn't eat if I choose to eat it. I don't really eat bread or Pasta. I might have a tablespoon of cooked brown rice with some things, I guess for some textural variety.

I know what you mean. It feels good to deal with heath issues from a position of strength!
  4. Thanks mate I had a week of night work and I turn into a grizzly bear for a week!

    How many calories?

I agree. There's a big difference between counting calories and restricting yourself. I record on MFP and I place no greater emphasis on calories than Protein or carbs or Vitamins. It's all information. I never feel deprived anymore. I came off a week of night work yesterday and hit 1300 cals for the day, the most calories I have had since being sleeved. I didn't beat myself up or think 'oh my god I've streached my sleeve!' It was obviously what I needed while transitioning back to a more normal routine. Long story short, try and find something that is going to work for you for a lifetime. This isn't a silver bullet and managing our health is something we will always have to do - like everyone else

    Green smoothie's rock!

    How many calories?

What everyone else said. Until you're on real food I'd just worry about staying hydrated and having a Protein focus. After that I hovered around 600 - 800 for months. I'm 20 weeks out now and sit on around 1000, sometimes more sometimes less - I just listen to my body and what I need. Who would've thought Id be able to do that??

for the older age sleeve gents

Mate at your age I'd bet money it's just a UTI. I had my first prostate check when I went to a urologist a couple of weeks ago to find out about a vasectomy. I wasn't expecting it, suffice to say I don't even like people wagging their finger in my face!!

When we push our bodies as hard as we are, especially you Fiddle, there are always kinks to be ironed out. I'm sure it's something that's easily fixed. Keep us updated, Deano
  10. Hey guys. I agree. I think diet, exercise, weight and good health are all enmeshed. I don't think you can truly achieve one without all the others in some form. For example I always find if I have a good week of training (ie all the stars align with work stuff, kid stuff etc) and I train 4 or 5 times in a week I always have a good week with food, without any effort. It just happens. Hope you're all having a good week Deano

    Long stall...or is it?

Pretty easy to get 'calorie creep' and think it's a stall. Good luck. Now that you've identified the problem I'm sure you'll start chipping away again.
  12. Hey guys. Been a while since I've checked in. Life has been nuts! I'm on a repeat of week 3 at the moment. It's really hard getting the running in and crossfit, but I'm enjoying the challenge! Deano
  13. Nothing wrong with being picky. There are a lot of ****heads around. I dunno why they call it firecracker. The dressing had a zing to it, but I wouldn't say it was hot.

    I'm famous!

That guy in his jocks looks like his penis is trying to eat is underwear. Which concerns me because I've never fed mine anything except brunettes. Now I wonder is he's getting a balanced diet. Martin, you've thrown your last coffee at me. You're a diva. I quit.
  15. For those of you that are a little further out. Had a new salad at Sumo Salad today. Firecracker prawn. Looks to be their lowest cal salad. 10.4g of protein in the small for 130 cals.
  16. This will be the last time you'll feel like you're depriving yourself. Don't beat yourself up. You can't change what's been done and you made the best decision you could with the information you had at the time. Good luck with your surgery, Deano

    Skinny me!

    Nice work brother!!
  18. I think it comes from the fact that every other time we've lost weight we've put it back on. Hard to believe this is the time that won't happen again right? But it is. As the scale starts to slide you'll get more self confidence. As soon as you recognise the negative self talk, shake it off. You can obviously recognise it because you posted about it. Make sure you're getting plenty of exercise, like walking. That will help with the anxiety if there is any. Good luck. You are losing this weight for the last time!

    I'm famous!

Actually. The Hoff is in love with The Hoff. How would that work??

    I'm famous!

I can see the resemblance. I think Martin might be the Hoff's love child!
  21. Hey K - I only just saw this post. I can't believe I missed it. You sound like you have an amazing family filled with love. It's a great thing. I know you'll overcome any adversity that gets thrown your way. And obviously we're here to vent when you need to. I have a habit of finding wonderful friends. I knew we hit it off for a reason

    I just farted.

Woke you from your nap. Jesus! Was it the noise or the smell??
