Don't feel guilty - you've lost 18 kilos, I'm sure you look great!
-
Thanks Sue. I'm anticipating the last 15 kgs might be harder to lose than the first 40, but we'll see!!

I've had to ban myself from chocolate covered anything. Couple of extra workouts this week I think .......

Hiya, I assume you meant 262 pounds. For that height the BMI is 47.95 by my calculations. They're all just numbers at the end of the day. There's nothing that says you should feel at certain way at any given BMI. There are tons of people who are at a BMI of 25 - 30 and feel fabulous at that weight and for them they're at goal. The BMI nazi's would say they're overweight, which is rubbish if they're healthy and happy. You've obviously decided you want to lose weight which is great. Good luck on your journey Deano

STUCK in a RUT between thin & not fat enough

Yeah, I've had a look. I think digestives are pretty close, although they look a little thicker. So do you sandwich up the marshmallows and some chocolate, wrap it in foil and put it in the coals? ......... I can't believe I'm looking forward to something that in reality, I'll probably have one bite of! -
What type of work out do you do at home? Started working.

I have a mate who gets fantastic results using TRX. I've been thinking about getting a set for when I can't get to the gym (ie because of shift work, or the kids schedule). I think you can't go wrong with anything using your own body weight in resistance training. Having said that, finding something you enjoy so you'll keep doing it is the key. I have a tablespoon or two of brown rice with some stuff. I could go with out it, but I like the texture difference with some of the stuff I have it with.

Thanks Kelli. You too. Have a great Easter everyone. First Easter in a long time I won't have a tummy ache from chocolate overdose!!

Teaching, a bit like law enforcement, is often a thankless job. I'm on the board of my kids school and there always seems to be something new we're expecting of them. I think teachers do a terrific job. I had a career change a lot of years ago. I worked for a bank and wanted to check out of the corporate lifestyle, for a number of reasons. Primary school teaching was on my short list. I hope things get easier at work. I'm sure they will as soon as you get your energy back, the national curriculum gets sorted out and we find a cure for helicopter parents!

There are a lot of fantastic, supportive people on this forum. It makes me feel good coming here. Thanks - I might just take you up on that!

Maximum amount of protein body can handle at once?
*Dean* replied to sr910's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I don't think anything is set in stone. Mind you, if your getting 30 grams at every meal I think everyone would be happy -
I think I had a soda at around 2 months. I had it out of a glass (ie not out of a bottle or a can) so it wasn't as gassy. You can't really have that much and you have to drink it slow. My Dr was fine with it, but I'd follow what ever your Dr recommends. That's what you pay them the big bucks for!

You're a machine Fiddleman. I don't know how you fit it all in! Lots of good looking girls do yoga. Maybe I'll have to have another look at my schedule ............... -
Maximum amount of protein body can handle at once?
*Dean* replied to sr910's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I agree with Mark. 30gms in one sitting was bandied about for ages, but not everyone agrees now. One thing I would try and do is spread your Protein. So don't have 100% of your protein requirements for the day in one meal and think your done. You should try and have a protein focus at every meal. That way your body will be utilising it all day, especially if it's coming from food. -
I found that my tastes changed and kept changing early on. I'd recommend not buying too much of any particular type of anything. Early on the flavour or texture might put you off. So I'd say get a good variety of liquids that you might like. Once you know what you like you can always stock up. Good luck! Deano

Sometimes I think we're reading from the same page of the same book! OP I think it's ok to have a feeling of mourning about this. We've all had friendships / relationships that were bad for us and we knew we had to end it. Doesn't mean that we don't at times miss that person, and mourn the end of the relationship. You haven't made a huge mistake. Soon you'll realise that the pros certainly outweigh the cons! Deano
