  1. Those guys are right. It's your private business and you can keep it to yourself. For me, I just wanted to be transparent and stop my rapid weight loss from turning into my 'dirty little secret' ongoing. I've been amazed how almost all of the people at work are supportive. Others have not said anything, so I don't know what their opinions are but frankly, I don't care! There is no shame in what I've done. I've had a heath issue that I have battled with for years and I'm tackling it head on. That's the way I dealt with it and it worked for me. But the guys are also right, you are entitled to your privacy. Good luck, Deano
  2. Over confident. I ate too fast tonight. About 3 tbsp of chilli con carne (my wifes recipe, it's killer) and about 3 tsp of guacamole. I didn't eat it all quickly but the first few bites were quicker than the 'new pace'. Oh my god the worst, violent hiccups I've had in my life. Every time I hiccuped my body contorted! ............ hopefully I won't make that mistake again!!
  3. I've seen a couple of uTube vids of people with the same issue.
  4. That's awesome. Keep rockin that sleeve. Deano
  5. I'm sure it's temporary while you find you feet and it all balances out, like Oregondaisy said. ............. nice problem to have tho!! Deano
  6. Terrific news. Congratulations. Deano
  7. I got one. I'm finding it hard to stuff a box of favourites into each little pocket .......
  8. Just got back from going out to dinner. First time since surgery. Went to a Peruvian restaurant in West End. I ordered a chicken curry. It had potatoes in it and rice on the side. I just ate the chicken. I'd estimate I ate less than 100g. That's not the cool bit. I can't believe the almost disregard I had for the food. It was really liberating. I felt more engaged with the people I was with and I enjoyed what I ate, but to be honest it was probably the first time ever that socialising was the top priority for me in a situation like that and not what I could consume. It felt good. Deano
  9. Welcome and congratulations. That's amazing. Deano
  10. If it were me when I RSVP'd I say 'I've had surgery recently, so I'm not eating very much, but I'd love to come' No need to feel guilty then.
  11. If he's paying who cares! Seriously, I think it'd quite empowering to go and eat a planned amount of food and nothing else. Why should you miss out?
  12. I can't wait to get back into training as well. Looking forward to what it feels like much lighter. I'm expecting to lose a lot of strength, but what can you do. I've lost 18kgs as well. I told everyone at work what I was doing. I was a little concerned about what the reaction from some would be like, but everyone's been really supportive. I in a Detective with the Queensland Police, so as you can imagine I have some pretty strong personalities in the office - pretty hard for them to say anything when I say things like "can't eat that since I've been gutted like a fish". Mind you they've all seen my weight yo-yo by about 20kgs over the years, training like a madman and my weight slowly creeping up. I appreciate the support. But if anyone did have a negative opinion, they're just ignorant. Good to hear your travelling well, Deano

    Only Down 9 Lbs

Nice one. That's a much better headspace. I really value this forum, but the one thing that's not so great is comparing losses to each other. We're all different and will lose weight differently. Good luck! Deano
  14. There would be someone on the GC that would specialise in WLS surely. I'm in Brisneyland. I see Marg Brooke. She was great. I see her in the Surgeons rooms at Chermside, but she's at Red Hill.
  15. Hey, just a suggestion but where do you live? Maybe someone on here can recommend a dietician that they're seeing that might be better / cheaper. Hope you're feeling well soon. Deano

3 Months And 50 Pounds Lighter

    Excellent work. Congratulations.
  18. I'm 20 days out and have better and more consistant energey now than I have a years. I suspect I was carb loading before, so having ups and downs all day. Now my energy is constant all day and at night I'm tired and ready for bed, instead of buzzing from the night time carbs. I love it. Maybe find a chewable multi with a dose of B Vitamins, but I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck! Deano
  19. You can't put a price on your health ladies. Your partners' aren't worrying about it, so you should treat it a bit like a compliment - thank them for their support
  20. Crab meat. That's the best constipation cure I've heard yet!
  21. Had a cruskit this morning with some cottage cheese. How good is it eating something that crunches after weeks and weeks on Fluid and puree that makes your mouth feel fury. I was brushing my teeth 5 times a day at one stage ....
