  1. We're still camping ATM and the connection I'd really slow. Looking forward to watching when we get home on hone weekend.
  2. Sounds like you're off to a good start. It felt good for me to get back to work and some normality.
  3. How good does it feel to go to something like that and have control over what you consume. Nice work. Deano

    Anorexic?

I think anorexia means the absence of hunger but people with nervosa do have hunger, they just won't eat. I think it's unfair to compare WLS to a dark mental health issue that kills a lot of people - but that's just me.
  5. You girls are out of control!!! So how many of you got multiple PM's after your disclosures?? Very funny thread.

    Anorexic?

Anorexia nervosa is a serious mental health issue with dire consequences to a persons physical health. VSG is all about getting healthy and improving your physical well being and being your best. I don't see that there are any similarities.
  7. Life changing. Congrats. Deano.

    My husband is an ass

Since the day I got out of hospital I still sit and "eat" with my family, even when I was on liquids. I'd had my fill of 'food court' and all you can eat buffets. The rest of my family can regulate their appetites, I'm not going to have them miss out on anything and I'm not going to miss out on family time, including meal times.
  9. Hey, we're camping at South West Rocks ATM for a week. Then off to Woody Head (near Yamba) for a week. Camping is a lot more comfortable / easier 20kgs lighter! Hope you're all well, Deano

    Heartbroken

Sending prayers and good wishes from Australia. Sounds like you're pretty adept at getting to where you want to be, and having WLS is only a matter of time. Congratulations on all your sucess to date. Deano
  11. The leak issue being a thing of the past must be a huge relief. Onwards and upwards! Deano
  12. I'm sure it'll work out for the best. Some Dr's don't even do an endoscopy so it's great that they've found out now and can get it sorted. Keep your chin up, jump through all the hoops. I'm sure next year all these issues to overcome will be of no consequence. Deano
  13. That's terrible. Where do you live??? I'm in my early 40's now. In my early 30's I lost 150+ pounds through diet and exercise. I thought I was bullet proof and my issues with food were solved. I was cured. WRONG. Over the next 10 years I put back on 110 pounds. Now I know I'll never be 'cured' of my issues with food. It'll be something I'll need to manage, always. But I learn from my mistakes and move on. When I lose the weight this time, I won't make the same mistakes again. Learn from today and move on. You're in a better position now because you know there's still emotional eating issues there. Now that you're aware you can manage that next time you feel under stress. Cheers, Deano
  14. Because we're consuming such a small number of calories it's easy to expect instant results. In reality everyone is different and the weight comes off differently for all of us. It's not uncommon for some peoples weight to go up post surgery. Take the pressure off yourself and just go with it. It'll happen. Deano
  15. Hi and welcome, I was 4 weeks post op yesterday. I'm eating between 500 and 700 maybe pushing to 800 a day depending on how my stomach is travelling. No issues, just some days it seems to be happy for me to eat more I'm on a 'soft' diet from yesterday and just introducing other foods slowly. Cheers, Deano
  16. ....... and looking at your ticker it looks like you're really close to half way to goal. That's awesome.

    Sleeved Today!

First day of the rest of your life. Congratulations. Good luck, Deano
  19. I think long term you'll be able to eat anything you want in moderation. I didn't do the last supper thing. I've had a bad relationship with food for years and it didn't feel right for me. I certainly wasn't saying good bye to a good friend! I'm only 4 weeks out. Last week my wife and I went to a restaurant with a friend to Celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. It was a high end restaurant (read small servings). We ordered and because our friend knew the chef he sent out a few extra courses. lunch went over 2 and a bit hours. I had a bite or two from each course (mainly protein). It ended up being 7 courses. I didn't over eat or feel sick when I left. I did feel pretty empowered that I had control over what I ate and got to enjoy the company and conversation rather than be completely engrossed by the food and what I could consume (the old me). So, don't feel like it's the end of eating anything. It's a new beginning. Good luck, Deano
