    Catheters?

I didn't have one which I was pretty glad about. Having said that if you're getting fluids by IV, which I was, you're up to pee a lot. Given the sooner you get moving the better it was a good thing.
  2. Everyone has to make their own decision on this but for me, it's the truth all the way. I didn't want WLS to become my dirty little secret. Nobody can judge me until they've walked in my shoes. I'm proud of my decision to tackle my chronic weight problem head on. Most people have been VERY supportive at work. Others have mostly kept their mouths shut which is good because they're either going to support me in this or say something stupid Do what's best for you. Having said that I've never heard anyone on here who has got into a pickle by telling the truth Good luck, Deano
  3. It probably will. I'm guessing it may have been a reaction to the fat / richness than just the dairy. See how you go further down the track. Deano

    Tamale Yay or Nay?

The inside is pretty moist so I would've thought yay with some sauce.
  5. Your Dr sounds like a knob!! Keep doing what you're doing - you'll lose plenty more. Deano

    first goal met

    That's a great start! Congrats.
  8. The best advice I can give is find a surgeon that your happy with (read trust) and take their advice. I met with 3 surgeons before I went ahead. I would follow what ever advice my guy gave. Good luck, Deano
  9. Dear Aussie Tribe, I hope you and your families have a fantastic Christmas. I'm 24kgs gone today (6 weeks post op, but including 2 weeks pre op) . I thought I'd Celebrate with a new profile pic. I say 'gone' instead of 'lost' ............ lost infers you're hoping to find them again! I have Christmas off this year and am looking forward to a special one. All the best, Deano

    Vitamix

PS - this thread is going to cost me money. These things look great - but $700+ down here in Australia!

    Vitamix

After a few weeks crunchy things tend to go down pretty well for most people. I reckon if your kale chips are the dehydrated kind, or cooked some other way w/o fat they'd be great. Deano
  13. 9 days. What a great start to the NY.
  14. That's awesome. Congratulations. Deano
  15. Hi. I don't want to express an opinion either way because I don't have all the information / knowledge and you should get that from the experts with your Mum. I have seen this video on uTube, and it did have me almost crying Good luck! Deano

    Anorexic?

Eventually you have to eat more to lose more. You'll find that balance eventually where you're having low calories but still fuelling your metabolism.

    Isolation

All of the above. I think that is one of the 'shifts' we have to make in our thinking. Social functions / gatherings, weather they're for Xmas or not, aren't about food - believe it or not (I know, I was shocked too ) They're about catching up and spending time with people. Focus more on the social part of the get together, not the consuming part. You will find it liberating to go to an event and being able to focus on catching up with people. I know for me, previously at events like this I was constantly pre occupied with what I could eat. I didn't even realise how pre occupied I was with food until post sleeve. Go with what AussieLady said. Enjoy family and friends this Xmas. Good luck, Deano
  18. Lol - be careful if your ever selecting your own. There are lots of over the top alpha losers!
  19. That's awesome! Your family and friends must be losing it!!
  20. Where do you live? I know heaps of single guys in Brisbane if your local and not adverse to going out with coppers!
