  1. Might look a bit like cabin fever, doing laps of your living room!
  2. You'll be fine! If any of us have to repeat a week, no biggie It beats sitting on the couch!
  3. Will be good a few of us kicking off around the same time! Anyone else?????? C'mon!!
  4. That's spooky Lila. I just started that yesterday. Today was day two. Aussielady is going to do it as well. I started a thread seeing if anyone wanted to get on board. I'm really enjoying it!
  5. Love it. I had some smaller sizes that I had grown out of put away and was meaning to get them out. I pulled them out last week and they were too big. Straight to the charity bin!
  6. That's great. You must be really pleased. When I get down to 99 (in 4 kilos) that will put me in the 'overweight' BMI range. After that I'm not sure what my goal will be. 82kgs is the top of my healthy BMI range. I don't know if I want to get down to that or even if my body would be happy there. So I'm just going to play it by ear. I was 87kgs in my early 30's and was fit, strong and healthy. Maybe that might be the number. It's a good problem to have!

  11. If you can walk 10k you will go through the first few weeks quite easy. Will keep you update. Only day two of week one today. One of my girls, 8 years, came out with me today. I really enjoyed it.

    For Distance Runners

Hey guys, On day 2 of C25K, so early days. Just read this thread. Thanks for the added motivation. Deano
  13. Hey Wendy - It's great!! I'm using an app called 'couch-to-5k' It seems like a great app. Tracks your distance and pace. Maps where you've gone. Progresses you every week. And it's easy to use.
  14. Mate, I'll jump over and have a look. I'm really enjoying it, but it is only night 2!! Not too bad so far. One of my daughters came with me tonight. We really enjoyed it. Do you worry about being "hooked" on running and any potential muscle lose?
  15. That's a worry. I hope its ok!
  16. Nice. You must be nailing it now!

    Why Lie?!?!

Yeah. I think after 10 pages it can be summarised as- 1. People have some valid reasons to not tell who they don't want to tell. 2. People have some valid reasons to tell everyone. 3. People really have difficulty with people not agreeing with their opinion. I think it's item 3. that has really driven this topic.

    How to handle critics?

I think a bit of it is a twisted western culture compliment. Trying to say "you're not THAT bad". When in fact you probably are. Also people are massively adverse to change. So there will be some resistance there too. I lost a large amount of weight 10 years ago. I'd lost about 110 pounds. I was still obese. I still had 60 pounds to lose. I can't tell you the number of people who said "You're not going to lose much more are you??" Don't be offended. Don't take it on. It's about them, not about you. :)

    Why Lie?!?!

Now that the cat is out of the bag with your family it will be fine. I don't see how anyone could hold any ill will against someone with a heart as big as yours Lisa. I'm sure you'll find in the short term it will be a weight off your shoulders. Some situations I have to admit sound harder for women than men, like the hairdresser one. But I have been in in a similar situation with a bunch of Detectives and SWAT operatives (read massive alpha males) and when asked felt on the spot. It was like swallowing glass answering. They all responded really well. Over time this will be a 'non issue'. Eventually we won't be the fat person now skinny and the questions will stop getting asked. I'm looking forward to that day

    Why Lie?!?!

Funnily enough, my 8 year old daughter is walking around the house at the moment repeating her line for school mass this morning "Help me not to judge or I myself will be judged by the Lord".

    Why Lie?!?!

Everyone has their own way. I'm completely open about it, especially if someone asks a direct question. I've only been sleeved last November and I'm happy to say that because of my openness and probably my enthusiasm two people I know are now on their WLS journey. Things happen a lot quicker with WLS in Australia. One of the people is a daughter of a work friend. She had her surgery 3 weeks ago and has decided to keep it a secret from everyone, except me, her mum and her husband. I don't judge her for that decision but I have seen that she's having some issues with maintaining the secret with her in laws. I'm hoping that over time, if the real story comes out, it doesn't damage her relationship with them. She's only young and newly married.
  22. Nothing loses weight and tightens things up like running. If your running 5k 3 or 4 times a week I think you'll smash thru the stall.
