Will my marriage survive WLS?
*Dean* replied to JennyBeth's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree Mark. My wife and I have been married 16 years. We have two gorgeous daughters. Relationships aren't disposable. You can't say 'You don't tick that box for me anymore, so you're out of here'. Working through the tough times together is part of what makes a relationship. -
Before surgery a friend asked me if I was going to have "one last big night out" ie a food funeral. I said "I have an inappropriate relationship with food. If I had an inappropriate relationship with my sister, I wouldn't go out on one last date before breaking it off" I don't see any upside to a food funeral. But that's me. PS I don't have a sister

Don't worry, I can camp it up with the best of them - I'm like the law enforcement version of Hugh Jackman. (Hugh Jackman is still telling everyone he's straight isn't he?)

Wiki A 4 litre cask of Australian white wineA box wine (or boxed wine, goon, goon bag, cask wine[1]) is a wine packaged as a bag-in-box. Such packages contain a plastic bladder protected by a box, usually made of corrugated fiberboard.

I've had a few beers. It takes me about an hour + to get through one! To reduce the carbonation I have it in a glass instead of a bottle or a can. Wine is good and I've had a few small glasses. Generally if I'm out I'll pour a glass with my meal and taste the wine with the food, because I like wine with good food. I don't have so much that you'd consider it drinking with food. Then after I've finished eating for 30 minutes, I finish my glass. I've also had a couple of single malt whiskeys post op and they went down fine.

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!

I was a bread / pasta / rice junkie before. I have zero interest in it now. I've had a couple of tortillas and mountain bread etc. It doesn't really do it for me anymore. Generally I'd rather have the filling (chicken / salad / pesto / veg etc) on a plate rather than have the carbs sit heavy. -
Day 1 week 2. I'm use to the app now, so it was the first jog I cranked some tunes. Played some garag-ie disco house with a 125bpm 4-4 beat. Hope you're all having a good weekend! Deano

I've had a couple of days like that along the way and have eaten a little bit more than I usually do. As long as in the big scheme of things I'm still having a very low cal day, I haven't worried about it. You wake up the next morning and it's business as usual. Deano -

That's awesome. Your gunna be halfway soon -
I'm obviously a long way from having to deal with an issue like this!! If you track on myfitnesspal, or something similar, wouldn't it involve working with a dietician to find out how many cals you have to consume a day to maintain? A bit like finding your 'sweet spot' for optimum weight loss. Then if you know what that is, say 1800 cals, you can consume in that ball park to maintain?

I'm a bit the same. Things are annoying me more than they did. I think part of it is I'm an emotional eater and didn't really know it. I think in the past when I was having these feelings I'd eat something to make them go away. I obviously can't / don't do that anymore. I'm trying to be conscious of feeling this way and dealing with it in other ways. It's a work in progress!

Because of all the fibre a little bit of fruit goes a long way.
