  2. Ahhh, the truth comes out - not only supportive but watching out for you! *cough* man basher *cough*
  3. You picking on the way I talk??
  4. Aww, I have faith in you Lars, even if it is from the other side of the planet. Take the first step! DO IT DO IT!!
  5. I would've piped up if you needed help from the couch to bed
  6. Want me to come over and run with you?
  7. Thanks, but I can't take credit for that. It was a pretty innocuous first post really Obviously what's had the impact is the collective enthusiasm from everyone - it's very cool!! Have a go on the road. Treadmills are great for the purpose they serve, but really, the joy of fresh air and pavement .........

    Issue

You're a bit young for prostate issues but that's a text book symptom. Maybe have that checked out? Bladder infection or a UTI maybe. I'd see your Dr for sure bud.

    How do you handle PMs?

You could always just reply with a link to the screaming goat.

    For Distance Runners

Agreed. Sounds like you're getting very good advice, which is a good thing. Fingers crossed. Deano
  12. Thanks. Knowing what I'm going to be eating for the day makes a big difference for me. Pre op I would just midlessly eat (graze) all day if I could!
  13. Oh! And dips with carrot sticks. My wife makes a killer hommus and a Greek yoghurt dip.
  14. Tuna and some whole grain crisp bread. Jerky. Protein shake. Yoghurt. A measured amount of nuts occasionally. A Protein Bar very occasionally. Sliced lean deli meat in lettuce wraps. Homemade bliss balls (some good recipes on the net). Left over protein from last nights dinner. I just try to have something with a protein focus.

    Better late than never...

9 months! That has got to be a record. Either that or stalking!!! Well done on the fantastic start. I'm sure you're going to achieve great things. I'm looking forward to hearing all about it.
  16. Oh - I meant to say also I don't consider eating 6 times a day grazing. For me grazing equates to mindless eating all day. I know what I'm going to eat at my 6 'meals'. I vary the amount depending on my needs at the time. Deano
  17. I eat 6 times a day. I don't feel hunger anymore like I once did. After 3 hours I get an empty feeling in my stomach and I know I should eat something. I'm currently having about 900 - 1000 cals a day. That's what works for me. Maybe your doctor is giving you this advice because of your medical issue? One thing I will say is that I wouldn't make any decisions on this, based on what we all say. You have a surgeon who knows you better than we do and you should take their advice. If it were me I'd arm myself with information (including some from VST) and go and speak to your surgeon. I would want to get them to agree before I made any changes. Good luck, Deano
  18. It's good seeing the fire in a few bellies!!
  19. Fingers crossed you get good news from your knee doc. Deano
  20. Welcome back. Nothing kicks thru a stall like running.
  21. That's great. I don't have a treadmill. I get why some people need them. I live in a sub tropical area on the water. I love the fresh air and the scenery passing me by. You've got a great attitude. I'm sure you're going to nail this half marathon! Deano
  22. Thanks mate - you've sold me! The point you've made that I get is if you're running, you're fit, healthy and it's keeping you at goal - who gives a flying $%^& if you lose a couple of % of muscle! Congrats on the 10k!! A great achievement. Deano

    Loosing my job...

That stinks mate! What do you do for a living? What's the job market like? We could use a pool boy. Get back to me when you look good in a pair of speedos. I'm sure it won't be long!
