IM SCARED ...HAVING LAST MINUTE BAD THOUGHTS ABOUT WHAT CAN GO WRONG DURING SURGERY :’(
*Dean* replied to dat_sweetmami's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You'll be ok! I feel terrible for that persons family after hearing of his passing. You need to put it into some context though. This site has 55,000 members. You heard about one person who recently died. I'm sure you've jumped through a lot of hoops to get here. Get excited - this is going to be great! Deano -
Don't worry. You'll be back to farting .....err, just like normal, in no time.

I did a bit of late 80's dance floor work to this myself
-
I'm that subordinate my name does even get a capital "d" anymore

Wasted! Best 4 minutes of your life!!

farted or sharted?

Pssst. I don't think you can speak to him directly anymore. Try getting the attention of one of his minders.

Good to hear you had a great day. They are amazing people.

I have zero interest in bread now, which I love. I was a massive carb junkie pre op. I would eat HUGE amounts of bread, Pasta. If I'd walk into a bakery the owner would be rubbing his hands together because I was about to clean him out! I've had small amounts of bread post op but it fills me up quickly and I'd rather fill myself with other cleaner, more easily digested foods. So I don't really eat bread anymore, but I'm not really avoiding it and I certainly don't feel like I'm being deprived.

I have a green smoothie every other day, so I get a good hit out the green leaves. Snacking on dried apricots is a good source. Avocados good. Every few days I dry roast some sweet potato and I have it with lots of stuff. Throw it in salads. Have it with a tin of tuna or salmon. All little potassium bombs!

How good does it feel to get amongst it!!

OMG - who put that diva in the spotlight??

 They considered WLS so I assume they're obese? If WLS is for the 'weak and unmotivated' what does that make someone who is obese and not doing anything about it weak unmotivated and stupid!!?? People crack me up!

I'd 'thank' them for their concern but point out they have nothing to offer. Something along the lines of "thanks for your concern, I really appreciate it, but you're not going to suggest anything that I haven't thought of or tried, probably numerous times"
-
Wow. That is the definition of 'everything happens for a reason'. Good work!

I know what you're saying Liss. I'm sure it was upsetting for you but I think it's great that you're (we're) now that resilient with our life choices, things like this don't effect us in the same way. Although still disappointing, and sad. If this friend genuinely reached out to you with an apology acknowledging it was her issue and that she was completely out of line I think any of us, having some insight into where she's at, would find it hard not to accept it. I know how much empathy you have for people with weight issues and I think you'd find that a challenge as well. But the sad truth is that is pretty unlikely to happen. If it does I'd consider reading her the riot act about some boundaries for the friendship in the future. If you anticipate that something like this could happen again in the future I think it's completely reasonable that you exclude her from your life. Have a ball at the theme parks. I have to say you don't get sick of that feeling of fitting easily into the rides and not having that bit of anxiety as you line up because you might get rejected!

Every time I read this thread I think "What a nice bunch of girls" That's all.

I agree with Richard. Also your body uses Water to metabolise fat, so maybe you have a big lose coming up?

Low bmi , slow loser ?
*Dean* replied to sarahzamudio1091's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I wouldn't get hung up on all the generalisations. It's different for everyone. Just tick all the boxes as far as your diet and exercise is concerned and don't worry so much about what you can't control ie how fast you'll lose. It's not a race! -
For snacks I have jerky, hard boiled eggs, tuna and a small amount of sweet potato.
