I can tell you that I know how it is when money's tight. I never bought anything expensive. I couldn't even if I wanted to. I'm a single mom of 2 girls. I would do this clear liquid diet for a week and see if it works. I dropped 26lbs in 5 days with this diet. I dont know if you have a sav-a-lot where you live, but if you do go there. I had a cup of fruit cocktail, a cup of tea with sweet-n-low, a boost, a cup of chicken broth with a few crackers to give it taste. I did this 3 times a day. I also bought sugar-free popsiclesand eat them thought out the day when I got hunrgy. It was hard the first day but it got easier the next few days. I also started doing things to keep me busy to keep my mind off of food. Try this and if helps let me know. I also wouldn't buy the swanson chicken broth because it has no flavor buy a store brand. Use the same cups everyday to know that you're getting the same amount. Mix the broth and the boost up. Maybe one day use chicken and the next day use beef. Mix the boost flavors up also so you won't get tired of the same one. I wish you luck and if there's anything else I can help with please let me know. -

I would love to help you through this. First of all dont be scared. I was 476lbs before this. I felt like this was my last hope, without this surgery I felt like I was going to die from being over weight. I can tell you that I did the liquid diet 5 days before my surgery and lost 26lbs. I can tell you my diet if you would like. I thought that I would starve from not eating but after the first day it was easy. I mean I was so desperate to eat I thought that I called and asked if I could have some lettuce and some fat-free ranch dressing, but was going to do this for myself and my kids. So just let me know if you have any questions or anything. -
The one thing I can tell you is that its very hard the first few days but its worth it in the end. I can tell you what I did. My clear liquid diet was in the morning I had a cup of tea with sweet and low, a cup of chicken broth with a few crackers in it to give it flavor, a cup of fruit cocktail, and a boost. I had the same thing for lunch and dinner. I also chewed on popsicles through out the day, if I got hungry. I lost 26lbs within 5 days with this diet. If you need anymore advice please let me know.

You dont have a eat soup, thats not the problem. The problem is the bread. I still have problem with bread. You have to realize bread is like a sponge. It almost gets stuck in your throat. And once you eat the bread nothing can go around it. So if you eat anything after the bread whatever you eat is stuck. I would advise you to eat your bread last or take very very small bites of bread. Its almost like you have to do the Adtkins Diet and eat no bread. LOL

cant really say anything about knowing about slippage or any other problems like that never had any. I can tell you that to take small bites and take your time in chewing your food. Once you stomach feels tight or you feel like you're going to vomit Stop eating. If after a few minutes you feel alright take a few more bites and be done with the food. I know that its hard fixing small plates of food, because I still have that problem. My aunt tells me all the time "you know that you're not going to eat all that food." I still have that problem but getting better. I waste alot of food now. I guess my eyes are still bigger than my stomach. LOL

the reason why you're throwing up is because you didnt fo the clear liquid diet. anytime you get an adjustment, please do the liquid diet. In the long run you will be thankful. when I first had this surgery i threw up so much, but it showed me how to eat and how much i can eat. you will start to notice when you are full. the best thing you can do to learn this is take a bite or 2 and wait awhile. this will stop you from throwing up so much. you have to give your food time to go down. I had this surgery about 3 years ago and have lost 215lbs and still losing. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me.

I believe not having the lap band I would be dead by now. I was a 34 year old weighting 475lbs. I felt the lap band was my last hope to live. I can honestly say I was a couch potatoe. I had talk with my aunt about when I died to take my daughters. I knew that I was going to die because of my weight. Well I seen the Lap Band on TV. Went to see my doctor and told him to let me try. This was my last hope. I went through the steps into getting the lap band. The hardest part before the surgery was the clear liquid diet. I went on this diet for 5 days and lost 26lbs. I wa so proud of myself because my doctor told me if I gained one pound before the surgery he wouldn't do the surgery. Well I've had the surgery 4 years ago, I've lost 215lbs to this date. I'm still losing weight till this day. I havent been to the doctor for 2 years and still losing. I lost more weight than the doctor, the personal trainer, and my family thought I would lose. So I recommend this surgery to anyone who has given up hope on losing weight.
