  3. Definetly reconsider!!!!! I too experienced a very easy recovery. ZERO complications...NO ISSUES whatsoever. I was sleeved on 11/14...I'm down 50 lbs. This has absolutely changed my life.

    freezing ?

Do a searh for "cold" and you will see you're not alone. I constantly cold since surgery. I sleep with my central heat, a hoodie and socks every night! I'm not sure of the medical explanation but it's VERY COMMON . :-)

    200 Pounds Gone!

Awesome!!!!! Your video is truly an INSPIRATION :-)
  9. Well you're on your way ! It'll be tons of more labs as u go through the process, stool sample, pap test, sleep apnea test...it's the most thorough physical you'll ever have ! Lol good luck on your journey...just keep in mind it will all be worth it at the end! :-)
  10. You wouldn't be able to go to the options classes if you weren't considered a candidate. Every step of the process must be completed to move to the next step...do there's absolutely no way you will make it to the surgeon and he denies you...unless your pre op labs are abnormal . Keep in mind labs are done at class 2
  11. Oh...by the way, we didn't have to turn in our food logs although the stressed the importance of keeping one. I guess different kaisers have different rules
  12. I had my surgery through Kaiser on 11/14/12. I honestly didn't feel like I jumped through hoops. I finished options in August. I'm am EXTremely greatful for the options classes and the entire process. This is a life changing operation and it's something that can't be rushed into. Patients who fail typically didn't have the pre surgery classes that Kaiser requires. I remember being anxious and just wanting to get the process over, but now that I'm sleeved I absolutely could not imagine how I would be staying on track if it wasn't for all the pre op information I was giving.

    Calling Kaiser Patients

I was sleeved on 11/14/12 with Dr. Fedorka also! I personally think Kaiser is the absolute best health plan ever! And I'm soooo greatful to the Fontana batiatric team
  14. My surgeon told me research shows only 5% of patients make it to goal weight. And to remember the surgery is only a tool. The sleeve will help you loose 60-80% of your excess weight. He also told me to set small goals(ie. 10 lbs or 15 lbs a month) and do not think this is the "cure all". I wouldn't stress over lbs and time limits, you don't want to become discouraged.

    5 Confessions (Join In)

I confess I'm mourning food :-( I confess that my fear is not reaching my goal weight I confess I HATE excersising, but I drag myself to the gym and do it, I confess I can't wait to be able to "be on top" during sex! Lol I confess i probably advanced through the stages of my meal plans too soon lol. It's only so much puréed foods a person can take!
  18. I'm feeling WONDERFUL. I've had no complications or complaints. I've lost 21 lbs since surgery...40 all together. I'm very greatful for kaiser and their options program. All the stuff they teach you really comes in handy. I couldn't imagine going through this without any prior knowledge and guidelines.
