Just tried the Chike Orange Creme........... Delicious ! Just like a creamcicle !!

A friend of mine had the surgery and he drove himself home from the hospital !! He said that he was a little sore for a few days and the doctor told him he couldn't lift anything more than25 pounds for a month. This is a guy that LOVED to eat !! The weight is FLYING off him ! He has me wound up for success !!

Hi Deena. I took a long time after the initial orientation to make a firm decision. After all....this IS major surgery. However I reached the decision that I wanted my life back for myself, my husband and my family. I'm a little nervous about it but am looking forward to the ultimate result. Good luck to you and don't forget to post on here to let everyone know what step you're at and how your weight loss is progressing !

Thanks so much for the tip on My Fitness Pal ! I just downloaded it onto my iPad and what a GREAT application !! I hadn't heard of it. Hope others here check it out. It's a free app and is really amazing !!

Hi Sherrinita. Can you share your pre-surgery diet with us and have you tried any Protein shakes yet ?

I've been using 2% milk. I had asked my medical team about it and they said ..."we'll, if you HAVE to".... I said I did !Lol

Kari, I tried the Chike Chocolate Bliss and it was really good. I also tried the Atkins Advantage ready made chocolate shake but that doesn't have enough protein in it. Thanks for all your insight on what you've tried. I'm sure everyone here is helped by your information. I still have to try the unjury vanilla and chocolate splendor and the Chike very vanilla and orange creme. I don't think I'll try the chicken soup mix. Somehow a chicken soup shake just doesn't do it for me...lol.

Do you have to do the two week liquid diet before surgery ? I dread that !!

Oh.....I also tried the Atkins pre mixed protein shake and it was pretty good. My doctor said I could use 2% milk to mix with the protein powders so I will start trying the unjury and chike this week.

I still have to do the cardiology and pulmonary work up next week then last appt w/nutritionist on 15th and blood work and final doctor letter on the 19th ! Then, hopefully, the insurance will approve and surgery will be the 15th of April. Getting less nervous and more excited every day !!
