It's not always about the scale

Amen. I went in for my six month check up and was told I was not where I needed to be. Guess what, I was fine with that. I have went form a size 26 to a size 16. So guess what, it is okay. Highest weight 272 lbs, at appointment 229 lbs. This is with me being on monthly girly visit. One nurse told me we have to get you back on track and one said, if you don't lose another pound it is okay considering you have not been this weight in over twenty years. Today, about three weeks after appointment, now 196 lbs. They don't everything. They are skinny in the office, without weight loss surgery. Took it with grain of salt.

    Friday Nov 8th

Once you've had the surgery and start seeing results you will have the same response most of us have, "Why didn't I do this sooner?". I love the new me. It does get easier, just make sure you're prepared mentally. Your food life will be very different. No more large portions, you'll love it. Food still tastes great you just don't eat as much to be satisfied.
  4. Congrats, you look fantastic. You are doing the dang thing. Keep up the good work.

    post op

Hello I'm six months out and I can eat basically everything, but not a large quantity, a we know the surgery prevents. (yeah sleeve!) Personally I don't eat pork or shellfish (scavengers of the sea). The surgery is the best thing I could've eve done in my life. I can eat what I want. I am now having a problem with remembering to eat. I love it. Welcome aboard.

    Any March Sleevers?

Can someone please add me to fb page? tiznice@aol.com
  11. I second that laserskin, wish was 15-20 years sooner.
  12. These replies are what I needed also. I had my surgery 12 days ago. Thank you all.
  13. Thanks newat52, do you have a journal to track your pounds and inches, if not, your inches would put a smile on your face..
  14. It's going to be okay, this is new to a lot of us. Just keep drinking. Use your tool. That's what it is. Be strong. Have faith. Feed them meals you can eat too.and you won't be grazing.
  15. As I see it, if you want to eat, then eat, but why try to hurt others in the process? Eat up if you want, the fast food and other delicious foods will always be there. I'm not on that train anymore. Free will.
  16. Not one second. This is the best decision I have made in my life. Yes good tastes great, especially when you have it at your beck and call. But food does not effect me like everyone else. I am obese, have been most of my life, but now my life is really starting. My husband had a salad and when he left the room I took a little bit of salad off of his plate. Boy did I feel guilty, I am eleven days post op. But guess what, let me get back on the wagon. If I only have to worry about quantity for the rest of my life, thank you. Bring it on. Love it, love it, love it. Just got to get dang protein and water in daily. Food not biggest problem right now, just lazy. No energy. I love my sleeve.

march sleevers the good and the bad

Are you keeping a journal? If not, you should. When the scale isn't moving the inches are leaving your body. Try it, I'm sure you will definitely appreciate it. Our new life has just begun, it will only get better.

Did you have a catheter ?

Yes you do,but mine was done once I was under. This was a big concern for my husband. We don't want everyone looking at our business.(At least we didn't, we insisted it be done by a female.) But you never know. It didn't hurt being removed. Remove your kegal exercises. I hope I spelled it right.

march sleevers the good and the bad

Hi i'm Fromm Chas.,SC. I was sleeved on 3/27 and boy is this a new way of life. i'm off fora month from my job and boy do I need it. I think the worst part for me is the pain associated with eating and drinking. The passion once it his the actual sleeve is awful. This actual made me think of a contraction, I started thinking is it five seconds yet? Today was hard for me, I went and had the drain removed, tried oatmeal, yogurt applesauce and failed miserably today. I just got tired of the hurt. And no water yet, am I crazy? Just remembered to drink, I think the runs kinda got me too. Getting ready to drink sp_k strawberry and kiwi w/protein. boy the losers bench is HARD. I really don't want my family members to know what I am doing, anyone feel the same way? I just want to surprise them when I see them. Others please rant on.
