ivonneh replied to lilbearzmom's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations!! you are doing awesome. I was sleeved in December 2012 as well but I have lost about 70lbs only and sometimes I wonder if I am losing too slow. I stall a lot too and sometimes that scares me a little because I kind of feel discouraged at times. -

I used to drink a lot of coffee before my surgery but I stopped like 2 months before my surgery date. Today I am over 4 weeks post op and I have been craving for coffee all day. Is it ok to drink decaf coffee? any coffee lovers out there?

Not losing weight in 4 days is not a stall. My doc says that a platoe is when you are not losing in months. I know it's hard but sometimes is better not to get on the scale every day. Consider that you are intaking lots of fluids and since your food intake is not much your body stores fluids and calories to survive. Your body is learning to adjust to a different life style. Also if you are not intaking enough fluids that can affect your progress. So do not stress over 4 days that you have not lost. Eventually weight loss will become slower but keep in mind that is not about how many pounds you lose but about the % of overweight that you have to lose. The more you lose, the smaller that percetange of exess weight you have to lose becomes. In my case I sometimes don't see any changes on the scale for days or even weeks but I can feel that my clothes fit better so I realize I am still losing inches. Don't feel discuraged or anxious, it is happening! just keep up the good work!!!!

ivonneh replied to blkdiamond377's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
that happens to me. I guess it's because we see ourselves every day lol. But people around noticed more. I still see myself big too but my clothes now fit better and some are even starting to fit loose plus I am now wearing clothes that didn't fit before. I guess that's when I realize I am actually loosing weight -

Yesterday I started to feel small cramps around one of my incisions. I am afraid of having pulled a muscle or something like that. Has anyone experience any of this? I don't remember making any huge efforts yesterday and I have been following my doctor's instructions for exercising. I still have abdominal restrictions so I am kind of worried.

Right??? I rather not drink any coffee than drinking decaf!!!! Lol when is ur surgery?

I was sleeved on 12/11 and I was just oked to start working out last week. So far my doc just wants me to do 15min on the eliptical and 15 on the stationary bike 3 times a week. but I also walk a mile every day. He say I mainly have to focus on keeping up my heart rate rather than distance. -

My doc advised me that I might have some nausea after surgery and he prescribed nausea meds but I never had the need to take them. I think you body is reacting and everyone's reaction to surgery is different. I hope you start feeling better soon. -

Spanish 101 and travel tips?
ivonneh replied to Shrinkythinks's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I was being sarcastic on my firt comment. Of course is not funny. As for being prepared ...you don't need any special gadgets. I don't know what kind of hospital you are going to but private hospitals in Mexico are just as hospitals in the US. You can googlethe city and places you will be in. In Mexico you can live just like in the US if you have the money to pay for it. -
Spanish 101 and travel tips?
ivonneh replied to Shrinkythinks's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I don't think anyone would say something like that to you in Mexico. And nowadays is not so hard to find people who speak english there you will be fine! Now for those who do complaint about the nurses who don't speak english lol it's funny because they can get full service in english here in the US if they are willing to pay the price. uhhmmm . I got my surgery done here in the US but I speak Spanish so if you guys need any help learning spanish I'd be glad to help. -
