My name is Ivonne and I am 30 years old.
This year I decided to get the gastric Sleeve. It was not an easy decision to make but after doing some research and talking to my doctors I became very confident that this is something I am now sure, I want. I am now very close to my surgery date (12/11/12) and I am very excited about it.
I have to admit I am a little nervous also. I have always been fat and somehow I have learnt to love myself just as I am and consider myself a beautiful woman. It is true that sometimes it's hard to find the right dress to wear to a party or the right jeans but still I have learnt to love my body and feel confident. On the other hand, I also know I can do better. I am prone to become diabetic if I don't do something now and I know that sometimes, many times I feel a lack of energy. I am 30 and I don't have any kids yet, but I would love to. Although I would not want to have kids being obese, not only because of the risks for me and the child during pregnancy but also because I want to be an active mom, and have the energy to play and take care of my children.
I have tried dieting, exercising, etc. and I have lost weight in the past but then after a year or 6 months I gain it back so this is sort of my last resort and I am ready for the challenge!!
