    Finally...november 6Th Sleevers!

Good Morning November 6th Sleevers Hope all is well with all of you. Its been a long time since I have been on this site. I am coming up on two years this November 6th 2014. Hoorah!!!!!!!!!!!!! As far as me here lately I have not been doing well and I desperately need some help. I really believe that something is going on. Within the last month I have been picking up weight and I do not know why. I have not called my doctor yet but that is the next step. I do admit I have not been exercising as regularly or taking all my Vitamins. Got a new job and things have definitely been hectic. It's no excuse but it's the truth. I cant really say I have been eating a lot. Because as we know we can't consume a lot of food. SO WHAT IS GOING ON? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am reaching out because I need some tips, some help, ANYTHING that will help me loose these 12 lbs that I have picked up and get me back on track. Has anyone experienced any similar issues on there two year journey? Thank,s because I am getting nervous and wondering if anything else is wrong. Denise Akers

    Finally...november 6Th Sleevers!

Hello November 6th Sleevers It seems like forever since I have been on this sight. So much has happened since my surgery that I do not know where to begin. Well first for all the new November 6th sleevers I hope all is well with you all. As for me its been almost 7 months since the surgery and I am doing quite well. I am down 59 lbs on this weight !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First, its funny I just cant believe how small I have gotten along with not being able to eat so much anymore. I went out to a restaurant not so long ago, and felt so foolish because I could not hardly eat anything. I took more food home in the doggie bag than I ate. Also now that I have had to replace my wardrobe I still find myself going straight to the BIG girls clothes and forget that I don't wear that size anymore. I am now working out and trying to get rid of this flab that I seriously hate. If anyone has any suggestions about how to get rid of flab please feel free to offer the advice. I have noticed that since I have been seriously working out I have not lost anything in 2 weeks don't like that. This is truly truly a serious journey. I go back on Thursday for my 6 month checkup. I do notice the last couple of months I have had terrible gas and indigestion. Also they found a nodule on my thryroid so I have to get that checked on. It seems as though when you do good in one area some other area seems to start acting up. Well anyway I still have 30 more lbs to go. Does anyone have any suggesstions with this semi plateu and how to break it. I hope everyone is doing well.

    Finally...november 6Th Sleevers!

Good Afternoon. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to me and to encourage me, I really appreciate that. Yes I am still on soft foods. First week was liquids, then two weeks of pureed foods then four weeks of soft foods which ends on December 29th, Hooorah!!!!!!!!! (lol). Also I appreciate the suggesstions of foods and to know that more will be coming off. I too will be satisfied with 1-3 lbs a week. I guess if you dont get that Protein in the weight comes off slower. This is something I have to work on the increase of protein because I have not been comsuming enough. Well I will keep you posted and I pray you and your family have a blessed holiday and you continue being blessed on your weight loss journey. Again thanks

    Finally...november 6Th Sleevers!

Hello Felloe November 6th Sleevers. I am getting a little discouraged. I have lost 22 lbs since the surgery, but the last week the weight has been extremely slow and I do not know why. It seems as though I spend more time in the bathroom bringing back up what does not agree than eating. One day something agrees next day it does not. I am on soft foods and I am getting bored with the same diet. Any suggesstion or tips on food choices and something that will move the scale a little bit more. By the way what is the average of weight per week that should be coming off. Thanks and good luck to all of you. Denise

    Finally...november 6Th Sleevers!

Hello November 6th Sleever. My name is Denise and I too had my sleeve on November 6th. How are you doing so far? I am down 22 lbs. It has been an interesting journey. I am still on soft foods. Some days are good and other days its terrible. It seems as though the toilet is my best friend every couple of days. Especially when something does not agree with me. It will come back up withing minutes. Sometimes I feel like I am doing things right and sometimes I feel like I am not. Any suggestions on menu ideas? Also how much should we be loosing each week?

Hi Thanks for answering. I am glad to see things are going well with you. I start my pureed foods tomorrow. My nutritionist gave me meal samples and ideas such as: baby food, chicken, lobster, crab meat along with soups. I tried the protein shake but got terrible diarrhea I am going to try again today. The calcium was liquid and started the diarrhea roller coaster so I ordered some chewable wafers from off line. So we will see. How is your weight lost coming.

Hello Forum My name is Denise, I am 45 years old and I live in MD. I have just joined this forum to learn more about my gastric sleeve process and to get help and give help on this journey. I am almost in my 2 week post op and things are moving good but slow. I had a rough time after surgery because I was a high risk patient. What I mean by this is that I was diagnosed with systemic lupus over 14 years ago(which has been in remission, praise GOD) and I have a high risk for blood clots. I had to have a intravenous filter put in before my surgeon would touch me. After surgery I had terrible gas. It was so bad that the doctors were concerned so they ordered a upper GI and the gas was extremely normal but abnormal because of so much. I have been able to keep small liquids down but the Calcium citrate liquid gave me diarrhea for 2 days. Still trying to find the chewable wafers. The main complaint I have right now is the soreness and terrible lower back pain. First I thought it was the hospital bed but now I beg to differ. I have my first post op appt on this Monday November 19th, so I will see where it goes. I am excited about the new process, but honestly the Vitamins and diet regimen is extremely overwhelming. It's a lot to learn and sometimes I feel like I don't know what I am doing. Today is my last day of liquids thank GOD and tomorrow I start pureed food so we will see how it goes. As far as the surgery it went well and I had the best care at John Hopkins Bayview Medical Clinic. For all of you that have had this procedure I pray all goes well. Thanks Denise
