About Me
Hi Im Julie! I had my surgery December 6th. Im 5 days Post Op and loving life, Im pretty stoke for what the future holds and am trying to stay optimistic with the mild pain, liquid diet etc. Being in my early 20's I wondered how hard this journey would be as my lifestyle was work, hit happy hour, dinner with co-workers/friends, going out on the weekend and minimal attention to my health. Ive been trying to have the surgery for 4+ years now and had all but given up on the idea I would ever be able to make this happen. I still, went to the orientations and kept up with everything in case one day I could make it happen, SO if you are in that boat now dont give up. I never thought this day would come and it has! I am soo happy, all the things that were important to me flew out the window when I got my surgery date. Drinking, going out and eating seem so little and unimportant, Its amazing.
My biggest struggle is the water intake. Ive never been a water drinker and now Ive got to sip not chug a bottle of water to get my water in. I will continue to try and one day Im sure it will be cake (no pun intended lol)
I started at 256. With my pre op liquid diet I was down to 245 by the day of surgery. This helped the day going in knowing that I was in the right track, Although it is MUCH tougher following the liquid diet pre-surgery because you still have that hungry feeling. This made it ultra hard for me but after the surgery it has been much, much easier. It is no longer a struggle it is a achievement or goal if you will. I am so excited to watch the pounds leave and start living the real me!!
