I heard from my surgeon's office and March 7 is my big day. The day after my birthday so "happy birthday to me!" I am so excited (and like most of us here) a bit scared as to what is to come but I know I am ready!!! I am 43 and have been overweight for as long as I can remember. Sure, I have dieted and have lost weight but only to gain it back plus more. Will I know how to be thin? I'm not sure but I think it's going to be fun trying. Thank you all for this wonderful forum. I have learned so much from all of you.

Plus size clothes, being told "u have a pretty face" when u know they are thinking "what happened to the rest of her", being able to tie my shoes without feeling like my head is going to explode and to actually cross my legs again. Not having to "lift" my stomach so I can dry under it when I get out of the shower, not be embarrassed at the beach, oh the list goes on and on... -

Hello everyone. This is my first time posting but have been reading the posts for a couple of days now. I am currently doing my protocol now (on my way to my endoscopy now) and am hoping to have my surgery in Jan. this is such a GREAT place and I have learned so much in just a short time. I know I probably sound crazy but I Ana nervous wreck right now. I'm trying to talk to myself that I am doing this for me and is one step closer to the new me. Any good vibes would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Over Problems! Pray For Me Today.

I agree and find a new doctor!! My primary doctor didn't think I "needed" it as well. I also have PCOS and asked my endo for a referral. The doctor I have now specializes in PCOS and agrees 100% that this is the right thing to do. I was told that the sleeve will change my body chemistry. In particular the hormone that gives u cravings. Finding the right doctor makes all the difference in the world!! Good luck and stay strong. I'm here if u want to talk. <3 -
Thanks everyone! Everything went well today and no underlying issues. Doc is to send the report to the surgeon that I am ok for surgery. My next appt is on Fri with the nutritionist. What type of questions should I be asking? Any input u may have is great! Thanks :-)
