Hey good luck, I had a sleeve done dec 2012, lost a heap of weight and then tummy stretched and everything went downhill from then on, suger, alcohol, chocolate, I'm sure you get the picture. I decided to have an omega loo Bypass done 29th May and haven't looked back since, no nausea, no hot flushes, no diarrhoea have lost 26kgs in 10 weeks, I'm absolutely over the moon -

Hi, I'm 2 months post op today. To date iv'e lost 19.7kgs. Have had no pain, no nausea, no reflux whatsoever since the very beginning. Iv'e had dumping a couple of times just from eating too fast. I don't calories or grams, I just make sure I eat 3 high Protein meals and 2 Snacks in between. No problem with Fluid intake, probably drink a little too much if anything. Where are you having your surgery done? -
Bipolar disorder question
thesupportedhalf replied to AZDesertRose76's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi I take lithium, before surgery I took 450mg at morning and again at night. I had blood tests after surgery and my levels were through the roof (dangerously) my dr advised to only take 450mg and night and forget morning altogether. Since then I have been absolutely fine -

You have done so well, your results are absolutely incredible, there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be full of pride, I'm proud of you and I don't ever know you haha. My partner keep asking me to sign up for the city to surf this year, I'm not a runner but might just do the walk instead. I'm signed up for tough mudder at the end of the year so hopefully once I start to exercise again next week I can start working towards it. I saw Dr Dolan on Thursday and he was so chuffed with my results! he was joking saying lets just reverse it! I don't think you need it lol. So far 3 1/2 weeks since surgery and 13kgs down. Currently 115kgs and my goal is 90kgs although he thinks I will be too skinny at the weight coz I'm 6ft 4" but so far all good, still haven't felt full, no dumping and no nausea, so that must be good right. Although right I've still got a week to go on purée stage and I'm fresh out of ideas, it's killing me -

Too much protein in one sitting leading to hair loss?
thesupportedhalf replied to Travelmego's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Being an ex personal trainer and nutritionist I can tell you my thoughts, your body cannot absorb more than 45grams of protein at any given time. And in fact it is a waste of calories. Any additional protein will put both your liver and kidney at high risk. It's also a well Known fact that you can gain a kinda coating of protein around your kidneys ( a coating of fat ) so it is definitely dangerous. I have worked with people, albeit 4 yrs ago that have had kidney issues because of this same reason. Of course feel free to google it for a second opinion. :-) -
Conversion from Gastric Sleeve to Bypass
thesupportedhalf replied to noellegz1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have faith thank you. I am a band to a sleeve. Now will be going bypass because of severe reflux. I didn't want bypass was afraid of issues. I have always been regular at bathroom three to four a day. And afraid I will have issues with bypass. I had severe vomiting when I went to sleeve hospital stay of five days. But hearing the stories here I'm feeling a bit better. Did you have insurance issues because of conversion. Was you weight and bmi low. Thanks so much Hi, we have different insurance in Australia so there was no chance of being turned down, luckily. My BMi was only 35, but due to me having the same surgeon who saw the health problems I was starting to have, he was happy to operate on me. He gave me 3 options 1. RNY 2. Omega loop (mini bypass) , I can't remember the 3rd. After a long discussion we both agreed the option 2 was the best and was reversible to a point. As far as BM, I take a natural soft senna tablet twice a day, that keeps my regular daily. 2 1/2 weeks post op, touch wood, still no nausea and everything staying down -

Conversion from Gastric Sleeve to Bypass
thesupportedhalf replied to noellegz1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's great to hear, you hear of so many bad side effects with people I'm just glad I haven't had any. So far so good I'm also managing to get all my protein and vitamins in, although I'm making a lot of soup and adding tasteless protein too it and going through jello like mad lol. I'm now 17 days post op and 22lbs loss since surgery, can't wait to purée stage now, lots of cooking and blending going on in my house right now -
