Hey December sleevers! I am: scared, happy, panicked, happy, excited, nervous, overwhelmed, proud of myself for taking this huge step oh and scared lol did I. Mentioned scared? Lol Pending united healthcares approval (submitted THREE weeks ago....can you say inpatient? Lol) my surgery date is December 10!!!!! I'm ready! Michelle

Hi. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 3 years ago, making it harder than usual to lose weight. It's under control with meds, but it did not help speed up weight loss. My endocrinologist highly recommended gastric bypass, but it seemed so drastic to me, Once I heard about the sleeve, and attended a seminar, I knew it was for me. I'm looking for other hypothyroid patients who have had the surgery and i am interested in hearing your experience. Thanks, Michelle

Hi! I'm sorry your support system is not being very supportive. I think you are so brave for moving forward with the surgery especially the day before Thanksgiving! Have you sought out a new support system? Are there support groups in your area you can attend to make connections? One thing I've learned during my 6 month insurance waiting period is that "we" WLs people are everywhere and I made great friends/connections along the way.
