About Me
Retired Navy Girl. Spent 21 years in the Navy and road a roller coaster every 6 months for almost the entire 21 years. Every 6 months we had weigh ins. I have tried every diet known and had success and then failed. I made weight once in 21 years. In 2005, I weighed in at 158. My max weight was 160. The other weigh ins, I made tape. To make tape you had to be 33% or less body fat. I recall a many of days starving and sitting in the sauna for hours on end with plastic wrapped around me. My small waist was my saving grace....that was only after having a tummy tuck and ridding the excessive skin in 2002. Needless to say, I passed the tape every other time. I have been heavy all of my life but I gained 90lbs with my first child back in 1982 and that was the beginning of a never ending battle. I joined the Navy in 1991. My first meeting was with the Army recruiters in Sept 1990. They laughed and made fun of me. I was 244lbs at 5'4.5". 6 months later I was 162 and at 26% bodyfat. I drank slim fast, ate boiled chicken, went to the gym in the morning and walked 5 miles in the evening. Rain, Snow, Sleet or shine. I was so determined to get the last laugh....and I did because on 14 May 1991, I joined the Navy and on 30 April 2012, I retired after serving 21 years...The struggle to maintain was hard every 6 months and I had 2 other children while on active duty. I also decided to quit smoking.
On 9 November, I celebrated 6 months of being smoke free.
This is the next chapter of my life. This sleeve is about me. Me finally doing me. I am excited and I can't wait to be 150.
Update: After getting to 163lbs from the sleeve, and gaining back 27 pounds, I did sleeve to MGB on 3/4/2017
