Can I ask if they did any test to determine if you have a stricture ? -
Tired.....frustrating!

This sounds like me. My nutritionist and gp just diagnosed me with severe reflux. I get a sick feeling every time I eat/drink and also get heartburn/indigestion. So I eat and drink less (or not at all) and struggle with energy levels from lack of nutrition. Are you on something for reflux? If so maybe the dose needs checking? I've started meds for this yesterday and am feeling slightly better today. They have also suggested I eat/drink milk products. Milk/chocmilk, pudding etc which seems to be helping. Also not eating can make the acid build up worse so try to get you recommended diet in. =) -
I've had terrible back pain, from the second I woke up from surgery. In fact, my stomach didn't worry me at all because my back hurt so much. I'm now 2 weeks post op and it is sill giving me grief. I can't see a chiro for another week or so but I think you should definitely go to one. You may be standing slightly different to what your body is used to from the weightloss and the chiro will straighten you right out =)

It's the same for me. I've lost 30 kg (66lbs I think) pre and post op and I can't physically see it. I can only tell in my clothes. But everyone else is saying "**** you've lost some weight!"

I am just about to move out of the purée stage and onto soft normal foods. I just want other people's opinion on cereal? Can you eat it? Any that people had problems with? Any to a pod completely ? Thanks

Thanks I'm more wondering if you can physically tolerate it, rather than if I should or shouldn't because if carbs/sugar etc. currently I haven't been able to tolerate very much at all-liquid or otherwise so I'd rather be eating a little bit of something than nothing at all because I'm so low on energy. Will see my nutritionist in a few days so will discuss with her the logistics =)

Me too. Ill sit under a blanket with the heater on while hubby is saying its not cold. It can be residual effects of the anesthetic and less movement -
How Much Weight Did You Loose Pre-Surgery?
shaker replied to Lhollingsworth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 25kg which I think is 55lbs? I had 9 months to lose I though. Originally was going to have the band but changed my mind 3-4 months pre surgery because my doctor just got a grant from the government to perform 20 public VSG's. I was the first sleeve operation to be performed in the public hospital. Exciting, but the nursing staff had never nursed someone who'd had this operation so it was a learning curve for everyone! -
Australian Sleevers- Anyone There?
shaker replied to deb1405's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi ladies I'm 29, from Western Australia and had my surgery on the 9/11/12. I have lost 5ks post op and 25 kgs pre op. 30kg total. I still appear to be in the regret stage even though I'm losing weight quite rapidly. Hungry all the time-every couple of hours actually. And craving food badly. It may have something to do with the fact that I'm struggling to get the 1.5-2 litres of fluid in per day. I was never big on water. Are any of you suffering with back pain? I have had back problems in the past but from the second I woke up after surgery I've had intolerable back pain. It has improved slightly but still awful. I made hubby's dinner in 4 stages yesterday because standing for longer than 10 mins is unbearable. I'm not allowed to go see my chiropractor until I've had my 3 week review on the 5/12/12. I hope your all doing well =) -
I know the feeling! I cheated. I'm not at all recommending it but it didn't do anything to me. Last Saturday 8th day post op, I had about 1/2 a scrambled egg. And for the last couple of days I've been having a few bites of soft potato( boiled or mashed) I'm not on protein shakes and find that I'm craving every kind of food imaginable. In fact, I don't even like mashed potato but the idea of putting purée soup in my mouth again was making me spew!
