  1. I'm glad to be doing this over the holidays. Both because I get some time off of work to recoup, and because I would be gaining weight right now, if I hadn't had the surgery on Monday. What a great way to start the new year! Already loosing.
  2. So glad you are feeling better! I'm really feeling pretty good too. Just tender. Strange to be planning holiday meals, and have no interest in them. Walking is so helpful, and the pillow trick is essential. I still hate coughing. We are getting through the worst of it, and I don't feel like it was very bad. Yea! Happy Holidays to everyone! What a great Christmas present!
  3. My 8 year old son had a sore throat this morning, so I held of on taking meds so I could take him to Kaiser for a strep test. By the time we got home, I was really sore. I took the meds, and passed out for 4 1/2 hours! I think I need to stay on the meds for a while. Hope you are all well! Meegan Lee

    Any Bay Area California Sleevers?

I am interested in having a monthly meeting in San Rafael. Is anyone in Marin? Any thoughts? I wonder if I contact Kaiser if they might have a room where we could meet, and possibly anyone to lead it. They don't have a bariatric center there. Please let me know if you would be interested. Thanks!
  5. There seems to be two threads of people who had surgery on Monday, December 17. I hope you are all doing well! I just posted that I have been very surprised that I don't feel worse. Some people are reporting feeling worse. My stomach is tender, and coughing is no fun at all, but my throat seemed to be the worst. I'm walking fine, and just tired and tender. I thought it would be much worse, and I'm relieved. I hope everyone is doing great!
  6. I'm so sorry you guys are having such a rough time. I'm feeling incredibly lucky. Maybe I just thought it would be much worse. I'm having pain in my stomach, but not that bad. The vicodin really helps. My throat is also helped by that. The worst today was when I had to cough. That is brutal. Wishing you all a good night's sleep and a better tomorrow.
  7. I have a friend who said she had a terrible second day thinking the same thing mentioned in this thread, what did I do! But, that didn't last for long, and a year out, she is doing great. We may have a bad day or two post op, but in the long run, this is a great thing for all of us. I'm feeling fragile, but very lucky that I haven't had a terrible time yet. Just sore and tender. We will all feel much better next week.
  8. Yea! I'm glad we all survived. : ) My throat is helped a great deal by the liquid vicodin, much more so than the meds in the hospital. I slept on the couch last night. Not ready to lie down all the way yet, because I don't want to get up from lying down all the way. : ) I keep thinking OK, this is real. The surgery is done and now it is all about getting used to this whole new way of life. Even though there was a lot of practice before on Vitamins, Water, chewing, etc, this feels different. The fact that I only eat two little kids tylenol size cups of food and am full right now is so strange. "Eating" that tiny amount slowly is really important too. I feel fragile, but also very excited. Congrats to everyone!
  9. Much better than I would have thought! I am a bout to go home. Slight sore tummy and my thoat was hurting until they gave me liquid Vic Odin, and now that is fine too. I have done a lot of sleeping and waLking. How are you doing? I hope you are well!
  10. I think I overdid the walking. Just took s n ap and feel better
  11. I has my surgery around 10:30 yesterday@ still sleepy, walking 10 Minutes every hour and about to start liquids. They are saying I might start to hurt when I start the stage 1 liquids. Do far a bit ogle gas pain and my ft throat hurts. Not bad at all so far. I hope all of you 22/17 sleeve ers are well! A major set p in the right direction!!! Meegan Lee
  12. I'm having the surgery tomorrow too. I go in at 9. Once we all wake up and feel ok, we should post. It would be nice to see how others are doing that had surgery the same day! Best of luck for a quick recovery. Meegan Lee
  13. I'll be thinking of all of you having surgery the same day and thinking good healing thoughts!

    Low Bmi'ers...how Long To Goal?

This is a great thread! I'm scheduled for 12/17. 5'1 3/4" and started at 192, down to 178, and eager for my surgery date. Nice to see other low BMI patients with such great success! Inspiring.

    Any Bay Area California Sleevers?

Hi Marcia, I'm still trying to figure this site out. I didn't even get notified that you wrote me. Thank you! I'm so surprised there isn't a support group in San Rafael. There must be other sleevers, or other WLS patients in the area. My son is in lots of sports, so weekends aren't the best. I'm going to try the Wednesday night ones if I can't find anything closer. Thanks for your advice! Meegan Lee

    Any Bay Area California Sleevers?

Is there a list of bay area support groups? I'm in West Marin. Thanks!

    Kaiser Nor Cal Patients

The Wednesday support groups you mention, are they in Richmond? Does anyone know of any in Marin or close by? There is one in Santa Rosa, but on Saturday, and my kid plays sports. Thanks for any advice.
