I have episodes of dizziness since my surgery. It hs happened daily since sleeved. If I change positions quickly, I feel like I am going to pass out. I have attributed these spells to either being more on the dry side or my lack of calories. -
Dec. 17 Sleevers - How are you on week out?
doreen70 replied to sars's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today I've been more aggravated than usual by the scale not moving. It seems that the entire month of February I've lost maybe 8 lbs. the scale goes up half a pound and few days later that goes. I really wanted to be down 50lb by my birthday next week. Instead I'm at 42. My dietician told me that most of her patients would kill for 42 lbs off at this phase. I'm petrified that this is it. -
My appt was mid November. My surgery was scheduled at that visit with Dr B. my surgery was dec 17. He actually scheduled my surgery to fit my husband's vacation. No preop diet.

Gas-X strips in Australia?
doreen70 replied to Tyson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They are papery strips of simethicone. It relieves gas. -
I used to mix peanut butter with my chocolate protein. Now I use PB2.

When my gallbladder went bad, the pain was right sided, and more intense when I held my breath. Good luck!

I was about 5 weeks post op when she said I could. Her opinion was I needed protein more than the risk of getting gassy with a straw.

Isopure was quite sour. I did try the apple melon ad it wasn't bad, just couldn't finish it. I did drink new whey shots the first 3 days post op at the recommendation of my dietician. Then I tried adding unflavored unjury to crystal light lemonade and it was gross. I tried different flavored protein powders, and couldn't tolerate the smell. I started mixing some frozen banana and peanut butter in the blender with chocolate powdered protein and milk-tasted and smelled better, but the blender seemed to whip it to twice the amount. I couldn't drink it all. Now I mix two scoops of chike chocolate powder with 7 oz of low fat milk along with 2 tbsp of PB2 powder in a blender bottle. I drink with a straw to avoid the smell-something my dietician suggested I try. Look at the blog, theworldaccordingtoeggface, for recipes.

Sick of the attention
doreen70 replied to bubles089's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It has gotten annoying at work. Everyday, the same people ask "so, how much today?". The skinny minny comments I hate too. I realize that they see what I don't see in the mirror. However, I delight in my husband's giggles as he discovers something different about my body-hip bones, the hollows of my neck, or the trail down my spine. He is my biggest fan, and only his opinion matters to me. -
At week 3 I more or less have up. But after a two week hiatus I went back to where I left off. I'm amazed at what I can do when I put my mind to it. And I didn't stop because it was too hard, I was making excuses for why I couldn't. The first day of each week of the app seems easier than the next two days-and it's the same workout. I put my ear buds in, crank up 80s cardio workout or you can't touch this station on pandora and just do it. Of course, every time I think about looking down or holding on to my treadmill-I hear Jillian in my head "head up!!! Do not hold on! You CAN do this!".

All of my December sleevers...

I'm down 42 lbs since Dec 17/2012. Bought my first pair of size 16 jeans. Rocking them at work today, and the compliments are just embarrassing. -
I had three c-sections, tubal, and my gall bladder removed. I never took pain meds in the hospital or once at home. I assumed my VSG would be the same. I was wrong. For the first time in my life I took morphine, 45 mgs to be exact. And took my pain meds at home the first few days.

Long story... Anyone else been here?
doreen70 replied to akirk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was Dec 17, 2012. I cannot eat 8 oz of anything, unless it is liquid. And I am no where near 1000 calories a day. The PA at my surgeon's office said I need to at least strive for 600 calories a day. -
For all the nurses, doctors, and medical students!
doreen70 replied to Puja's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nurse here...staying hydrated is hard. I always have a bottle of water handy. I keep a protein shake in the fridge for after lunch. I make sure I have at least 16 oz of water before I leave for work, and try to drink 24 oz at least during work, and the balance I get in the evening.
