    8 months later

    Just amazing. You are gorgeous.
  2. And I finally see the difference. I can't see the loss in the mirror. For me it's pictures.

    Nearly 3 months

    Thanks ladies!
  4. Almost 3 months out. The before pic is a couple of years ago. I actually weighed more before surgery. 275 lbs pre op, today 228.

    Sucralfate

No, your doc ordered it four times daily. Take it before your meals ( breakfast lunch dinner ) and before you go to bed.
  6. I apologize socalchic. I was repeating the explanation that my OB gave when the exact thing happened to me, twenty years ago.

    Best Workout Songs?!?!?

I switch from my Pandora stations, “you can’t touch this” and “80s Cardio”.

    Best Workout Songs?!?!?

Ditto!! I just got back from an hour long hip hop class…tragic really. My ass doesn’t shake and my hips can’t move like that.
  9. I can tell you from past experiences with my cesarean sections, that most of that oozing and drainage is just liquified fat. Your body will absorb it or reject it. I would contact your MD, let him know what happened. He may choose to put you on antibiotics prophylactically. DO not use cotton balls-as a nurse those little fibers make me nervous in an open wound. Try non stick gauze pads such as Telfa.

    Nearly 3 months

Much to my friend’s pleading, I weigh daily. I have lost 47 lbs as of this morning, sleeved 12/17/12.
  11. Awesome! You look great! I know what you mean about feeling bones! Last night in bed I grabbed the back of my thigh, and yelled oh gross! My husband asked what was wrong, and I said I feel something weird. It was my hammies. He cracked up.
  12. I'm an open book, where my surgery is concerned. My boss told us at work a year ago that she was going to have it. I had never heard of the surgery until then. So, her frankness about the procedure led me to be as honest.

    ? about dehydration

When your oral mucosa is dry-inside of your mouth. Your urine production is very scant, less than an ounce per hour.

    All of my December sleevers...

Day of surgery 275 lbs. Current weight 229 lbs. Total lost 46 lbs. I was sleeved December 17, 2013. I was spilling out of a size 20 pants and 22/24 top. My scrubs were a 2xl bottom and 3xl tops. Those were snug. I now comfortably wear a 16 jean and size 18 top. My scrubs are xl and I'm kinda swimming in them. I am guilty of weighing every day. And have had weeks when the scale didn't move, or if it did, I would gain a pound. I follow my diet, get in 64 oz of water. My carb intake is 20 gms or less. This week I did cut out the Atkins protein. Bar for breakfast ( I was too lazy to cook breakfast ) and my scale started too move in the right direction.
  16. I took all my meds whole, starting post op day 2.

    Venting-breakdown today

You are still swollen from surgery. The weight loss you will notice immediately on the scale, but the way your clothes fit takes a few weeks. It will get better.
  18. I bought beautiful small plates and 4 oz ramekins. I eat til I'm full, then hand my dishes to my husband so I don't keep picking at my food.

    Triggered by a tattoo

I have 7. I got the first one at 25, mom of two, and married. A couple of nurses went after work one morning for tattoos and piercings. When my mother first saw it, she was flipping furious. It was months of bitching about it. She's over it now.

    All of my December sleevers...

I have felt crappy. Always tired, and always cold. My TSH hasn't been this high since I was diagnosed. I hope this helps.

    All of my December sleevers...

I have lost 44 lbs since my surgery 12/17/12. I have been overly anxious about my weight loss. I expected to lose more by now. I compare my progress to a friend who had surgery a week before me. I lost a net of 7 lbs in February. I follow my diet, exercise, the whole shebang. I have suffered with hypothyroidism for 11 years. My last pcp decreased my dose of synthroid from 200 mcg to 125 mcg some time last year. I had my TSH repeated and it was 14.7. So, starting tomorrow my dose will be higher and hopefully my metabolism will get a boost.

    How did they close you?

My. Surgeon chose not to use dermabond because of my adhesive allergy. I did have internal sutures, that were supposed to dissolve but did not. At about week 3 my incisions looked infected and started draining a scant amount of purulent drainage. After a week, the sutures pushed out of my nearly healed incisions.

    Worse photo ever!

These are a few of mine. The one in the white is 2010 in Vegas for my anniversary. The one with my son is at his boot camp graduation in 2011.
