Intimacy after post op-LADIES ONLY PLEASE
doreen70 replied to sarahp_newme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me, I have noticed that my sex drive has dropped to zilch. As my weight decreases, my husband wants to intimate more and more-and I don't. He is frustrated and I don't know what to say. -
Peanut butter powder to chocolate chike. I may try espresso powder to the Chike next time.
-
I could have broccoli at two weeks, well steamed. Tolerated it fine.
-
Hmmm...no kidding?!? Only posted because the person above me stated they had given up on all of the protein powders. Unflavored is flavored-adds a weird taste to anything I added it to.
-
I use Chike chocolate powder, plus two tablespoons of chocolate PB2 powder, 8 oz of milk. About 40 gms of protein. Doesn't taste bad, in fact one of coworkers tried and said it tasted like chocolate cake batter.

All of my December sleevers...

At 3 weeks I had lost about 24 lbs I think. My surgeon told me it was above average. He doesn't discuss goals until 6 month. -

No swimming or baths until the incisions are healed. I too struggled with protein intake in the beginning. In fact, I refused it by day 5. At one month, my dietician gave me a well deserved ass chewing. I am a nurse, a s everything she told me I already knew. I wasn't healing well because of the lack of protein. I was tired because of the lack of protein. She said now was the time to consider it medicine, and just take it. I stopped trying to mix it in the blender-seemed to double the amount. Now I put my chike and PB2 powder In a blender bottle. I get 40 gms per shake. I started walking the day I got home. My surgeon released me at 3 weeks to "exercise in earnest". -
I haven't discussed this with my doctor yet. I did discuss with my dietician. She stated you will get intoxicated on very little. She also suggested if I did drink, to try it at home first because no police officer will believe you had a few sips. It's empty calories, so why bother? My fear is that I drank a couple of bottles of wine per week before surgery. I do not want to replace my food addiction with alcoholism. I'm leaving it in the past.

I remembered this saying "worrying is like praying got something that you don't want". Instead, have a quiet conversation with God. It is what settled me down so I could sleep.

Diet pills after Vsg surgery !
doreen70 replied to baseballmom02's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I work for my PCP. I mentioned I had been hungry a lot last weekend. I wanted to know if I could up my Nexium. She didn't understand the acid mimicking hunger until I explained it to her. She was offering to prescribe Qysimia. Instead, I bumped my Nexium to twice a day dosing. Worked very well. -
pressure and burping, five days out
doreen70 replied to Obsidian's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pressure is what I feel when I eat too much. And burping will soon follow. Eating too much happens when I eat too fast. When I eat slowly, I can easily pick up on the full feeling. And once my husband hears me sigh, he asks if I'm done. And I'll give him my plate. Once I was able to start eating real food, I bought myself some pretty saucers to make mealtime not so boring. -
I felt the same way. Was the most nervous the night before and the morning of. I was lucky to be the first case, so once I got to the hospital I didn't have a lot if time to worry. And god bless them for giving me a hit of Versed once my nurse started my IV. I was nice and relaxed when I tooled into the OR. My CRNA was whispering in my ear as everyone bustled around "I had this surgery too. You are going to be so happy". All the RNs introduced themselves and were kind. As a nurse, I appreciated that they treated me like I was their family member.

3 month photos / 50lb loss
doreen70 replied to attractiveval's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Beautiful! I love the outfit!! -
Taking a compliment is one thing, but reacting to that attention in any other way is not good. My husband was able to tell me his concerns prior to surgery, and we talked about it. In fact, we continue to talk about it. He is very much a part of my weightloss journey. We will be married 22 years this summer, and have 3 handsome sons. This surgery will give me the opportunity to take my life back. I have always been on the sidelines, watching them do all the fun stuff because I was too fat. He is working at getting back into shape ( needs to lose 20 lbs ). We have decided to share our hobbies with each other-he's still trying to talk me into learning to ride his crotch rockets. However, the one I'm most terrified of I agreed to easily, skydiving. The point is, losing the weight will be hard. Keeping a relationship alive is just as hard. If you don't give 100 percent, neither of those will be successful.

It will get better. Keep in mind that since surgery our bodies are in shock. And we have drastically reduced our oral fluid intake, which is necessary for softer, normal BMs. We are limited in the amount of fiber we can consume-raw fruits and vegetables-also needed for regularity. Try throwing some raw spinach in your protein shakes, or kale. You can't taste it. Continue taking colace every day, it will pull all the water it can into the intestines. If you are desperate try an enema, you can buy them at the pharmacy. I guess I lucked out, coffee with half and half works for me. I'm running to the bathroom before I drink the whole cup.

Try the Classico pizza sauce-very good.

I'm starving--please talk to me about acid reduction
doreen70 replied to 2013isit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Last week I felt the same. I felt ravenous, even after eating. I was taking Prevacid once daily. Switched to Nexium once a day and felt somewhat better. Bumped it up to twice daily and feeling much better. I also switched my routine up. I was drinking my protein shake between breakfast and lunch. I was starving my the time I got home from work. Yesterday I drank my shake as a snack between lunch and dinner. I was able to cook dinner without having something to snack on. -
My tight sexy heels fit now. I hope I don't lose a size! I can't part with some of them.
