I WANT A DIET COKE SO BAD...HOW CAN I FLAT IT OUT
mommyradd replied to dat_sweetmami's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know how you feel. I haven't had a diet Pepsi since November 25th. I would always tease my hubby that I rate my needs as air, my children, diet Pepsi then him, LOL. So I can totally relate to your feelings. However; I don't allow myself to entertain it because for me that would be falling off the wagon. I know I have no self control with soda. There are plenty of people out there who do drink it again. It's just my personal choice not to. Good luck, whatever you decide. -
I hope you take this as a compliment because that stood out to me, too. Damn girl :-) I hope I get a tush like that when I'm at goal! Congratulations

cigna patient...how long did it take to be approved?
mommyradd replied to Tyas84's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It was something important, but really simple to fix. My PCP initially wrote a letter saying I was under her care, and recommended for WL surgery. She had to re-write it stating that I was "recommended and CLEARED for weight loss surgery." Once that was submitted, I got an approval. -
cigna patient...how long did it take to be approved?
mommyradd replied to Tyas84's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It took a week for me to get a denial, I faxed my appeal to the next day. By the following week, I was approved. So even with an initial denial, it took about ten days total. Good luck! -
What you are feeling is normal. A lot of us have been there. I was in a long stall. I chose to stay the course. I followed my plan as though I was losing. Eventually, the stall broke. I lost 10 pounds and was elated! Since those 10 lbs. lost on February 6th, six more pounds have come off. I would go through that month and a half stall again, knowing at the end of it, I would lose 16 pounds in 4 weeks. Just stay the course. Believe in yourself, and you will be successful. It comes off when it wants to, but we have to just do the work and then let it happen. Hang in there.

Yesterday I Ate My Feelings
mommyradd replied to delta_girl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Delta Girl: Thank you so much for sharing. Your story hit close to home for me, as well. I have pretty much had an easy time not straying from my diet. I have been really happy with my progress, and I know that getting my sleeve has changed my life for the better. Then I get up one day and my whole future is in crisis. My husband got laid off from his management job, and now we find ourselves with a new house, four children to feed, and no income...I find myself seeking comfort in pork rinds and realize that it's not hunger, just my way of coping with fear. I need to get a hold of myself, and handle this crisis in a healthy, new way. Again, thanks for sharing your story. It encouraged me to wake up. -
Thanks for lightening it up, Laura You're a funny one!

Congratulations! It's so awesome to get that call!

Almost 7 weeks Post-Op...think i ate too fast. help
mommyradd replied to rxkid2384's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
The same exact thing happened to me last week when I ate salad! The runny nose, slimes, pain in chest, you name it. I had to just wait until it passed.I burped, hicupped, and puked a little. I just kept rubbing and patting my chest, and within fifteen minutes, I felt much better. Hang in there, it's all part of the learning process for us. -
HELP...NEED TO STAY FOCUSED
mommyradd replied to dat_sweetmami's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It is super hard being on any diet. I think that everyone on this site can relate. Maybe you can start by cutting back on certain foods that you know you eat often, that are high in calories. Prior to surgery,I wanted to start off on a healthier mindset about food. I started with "baby steps." I gave up french fries and ice cream. Because I ate them often, I noticed a change right away.Next, I cut down on the bread and pastas. I lost weight without struggling, or feeling much hunger, because I didn't stop eating; I just changed what I ate. I was a chronic snacker. If I can do it, anyone can! You will be fine. Just stick with your plan, and add healthier choices. I had a lot of string cheese... Just find your go-to snack that is good and satisfying for you. And increase your protein. Good luck. -
I like both. And if a guy has a bad haircut- definitely prefer a bald head,LOL. My hubby has had me shave his head to nearly bald, for the past 4 years, and I love it. He's not balding, just hates his wavy hair, and I agree. I also love the goatee without a moustache-SEXY!

I can't speak for traveling all the way to Mexico, but I was alone an hour away from home. The sleeve has so changed my life for the better, if I had to go to Mexico alone to get it done-I would. I hope you get yours done, and no- you are not crazy.

Congratulations guys! So exciting! I remember being full of anticipation....Now, at 14 weeks out, I learn more everyday, and I appreciate this awesome tool. Love my sleeve!

Will i loose before november
mommyradd replied to kooks3003's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand your concern. While there's no way to know for sure, chances are that you will lose enough to feel happy and proud of the way you look in eight months. I had surgery on Nov. 27 and wanted to lose 40 pounds before my vacation in late January. I lost 25, felt happier, fit into smaller clothes and hiked in Hawaii! Don't worry about it. It will all work out just fine for you! -
just dont feel like eating.
mommyradd replied to Rycherchick's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I went through that and thought I would never re-gain an interest in eating again. Everyone told me to enjoy it while it lasts, and make the most of it because the appetite returns. I'm 14 weeks out now, and well over that phase of not wanting to eat. The good thing is that now it is easy to get in the 64 plus ounces of fluids. Hang in there, it will pass! -
You look like a different person! Congratulations, and great smile in both pics!
-
I agree with the other- you will know. We all have different experiences, but the bottom line is that when something goes down wrong, your body will let you know! I'm early out, but it gets better every day, and I love it!

Less than 24 hours to go!
mommyradd replied to pammie37's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It's natural to feel a bit anxious and nervous. Tomorrow will be the beginning of a bright and healthier future. I wish you well, and hope that you will love your sleeve as much as I love mine. It has changed my life!
