    African American Sleevers

I got braids right after surgery also. I was uncomfortable with sitting for so long. I had to break it up in two sessions. My back was killing me so I had to get up and walk a lot. It was worth it though after all was done. Blessings on the journey;-)

    African American Sleevers

No. I didn't get stones. I had back pain/discomfort and couldn't keep the little bite of food I was eating down. I had tests and found there was no functionality of my gallbladder.

I love this thread also. I have been checking in periodically and it has been so encouraging and informative. I had my surgery on Aug 17th 2012, HW 348. Best decision I have ever made just for me. I have had a lot of struggles including having my gallbladder removed a month later but would do it all again to feel this good. Blessings to you/us all on this journey;-)

    August Sleevers..what Is The Progress

Hi Curvy Girl...I was sleeved August 17th 2012. HW 348-SW 332 - CW 247. I have had so many stalls and I have a long way to go also, another 80lbs...but last year this time my body was in pain, my knees, and I felt miserable. Now, my knees are fine and I feel good about where I am headed...onderland! I've been trying different things to try to get the scale moving after hearing everybody else's remedies. I can eat just about anything I want but I am keeping a journal of it in the LoseIt program and that keeps me honest with my intake. I went back to at least one protein drink a day, and now the nutriblast, I love it! Still have exercise challenges though. I would probably be further along but life gets in the way most days and I don't do the exercise I need to do...ugh! This is definitely a life changing journey for a foodie like me! Thankful for this outlet with others having same challenges and experiences to share;-)
  11. I am having the same issues. I am almost eight months out as well sweets was not an issue at all after surgery but latelybi have had mad cravings for sweet stuff. What's happening!

I'm 55 And Had My Sleeve Done On August 8

Congrats on making the decision to change your life!!! I was sleeved on August 17, 2012. I thought 52 was too old but decided I wanted to enjoy the rest of my life getting out and about without fear and pain, my knees and body hurt all the time. The best decision I made just for me! I have a ways to go and life gets in the way of constant exercise, but I have lost 85 pounds since the surgery. The challenges of day to day issues before the surgery have made these challenges bearable. I put it all in perspective. I can play with my grands without the pains! I am grateful for the new beginning. It will only get better...even with the stalls...ugh;-)
