    Im ready but very nervous.

Scared but knew I was doing the right thing. And haven't regretted it since. Good Luck.
  2. Netrition.com has the syrups but eventhough they have a lot of different brands of protein unjury isn't on there. Now of course amazon carries both.

    Normal--?

Yeah most likely from the fluid not the gas, the more fluids you intake the quicker it will get rid of the excess liquids. Good Luck.

    3 weeks out to surgery

They usually wait till after your sleeping to put the tube down the tube so it's not that bad. Now when they take it out that is a different story. Good Luck.

    anxious and lightheaded

Yeah that usually comes from either low protein or dehydration so make sure your getting enough of both. Good Luck.

    Carb/fat/protein ratio

The thing with carbs are that there are simple and complex carbs. My surgeon said that the carbs you get from fruits and vegetables in general aren't bad and shouldn't be worried about as much. so to that end I try not to sweat the carbs as long as it's not the starchy kinds.

    BMI not showing in profile?

You have to list your current weight and it will calculate it for you. To list your current weight go into edit profile and go to the MySurgery section and enter the current weight in the appropriate box.

    Appendicitis?

Odds are the appendicitis had nothing to do with the surgery but is just bad timing. Good Luck.
  9. 5th week out started solid foods after 2 weeks of soft food/purees. did not have any cravings.
  10. Toradol is a pain med but it is of the class of meds known as NSAID's which you will find with a little research on here are usually considered a no no after VSG. http://www.drugs.com/toradol.html as it is commonly used for pain control after most surgeries it is probably what you are thinking of but probably not an option this time. Dilaudid and Demarol are good pain meds but as they are opiods like morphine and Oxycontin it probably won't be very helpful either. Fentanyl is a common pain med that while it is also an opiod seems to work better for a lot of people who have immunities to the others. Good Luck.

    Incisions...

Most likely scar tissue from the healing process and will go away. If it isn't causing any pain or discomfort I wouldn't worry about it. Good Luck.

    soooo

You probably won't die but will most likely be very miserable from it and could damage your sleeve depending on how far out you are. Did you check to see if they sale water as an alternative to soda. Or maybe see if you can get a cup of ice without the soda. Good Luck.

    Barilla Plus Pasta

High starchy foods like pasta and breads will expand in your stomach. Until you are at least 3 months out from surgery most Dr won't recommend eating much of this stuff. Understand i'm not saying anyone can never have pasta again just that you should wait long enough to ensure you don't damage your sleeve.

    Prevent constipation Post op?

The best way to deal with it is to take some sort of fiber supplement or try to eat foods high in fiber. If you don't do the low carb diet post op it would be easier but everyone has to make there own decisions on what works for them based on what their dr tells them.

    Good Luck.

    scared in ways

The pill should have dissolved by now there may be some swelling from it being stuck. Have you tried drinking something warm like tea it will help with any swelling. It is also possible that the problem at this point is psychological and just coming from the fear that comes naturally when you think you are choking. If you continue to not be able to get anything down you might have to go to the ER so they can check for obstruction but I would seriously doubt that will be the problem if it was just a pill that got stuck. Good Luck.

    HELP

Definitely talk to your dr. throwing up every time you eat is not at all normal. I personally have not thrown up at all since my surgery, came close once but didn't. of course everyone is different and it may end up being nothing but why take a chance. Good Luck.

    Pain in right lower side?

You should definitely call your dr about this. It could be cramps, but on the right side it could also be Gallbladder or appendicitis. Good Luck.

    Prevent constipation Post op?

I did 2 weeks pre op liquid diet and still had constipation so I don't think that has anything to do with it. The constipation I believe has to do more with the anesthesia or possibly the pain meds as both are known to effect digestive systems. Further along post op constipation comes mostly from decreased fiber intake which is common in a high protein diet. Good Luck.

what do we have to do to get food commercials Banned?

If you have a DVR you could always record all your shows and watch them after they aired live and skip the commercials. For that matter I have the hopper from Dish and it records all prime time shows from the big 4 networks and after 24 hours after initial airing when you play the shows from the DVR it gives you the option to skip the commercials all together.

    can't stop eating crap

Personally I feel that if you try to deny yourself everything bad to eat it will become increasingly difficult to fight the urges. I try to find a way to have a taste of the bad things once in a while but keep it in moderation and adjust the rest of my diet for the day accordingly. Good Luck.

    pickles

As with everything when things are allowed varies widely based on your dr. I personally started eating pickles blended into my tuna salad during mushies at 2 weeks post op. Good Luck.

    Cravings gone wild:

Cravings tend to be mostly psychological, unfortunately that makes it even more difficult to fight then not. When I have a craving I try to ask myself some questions, Why do I want this?, Is it something I should eat? Is it worth the consequences to eat it? Usually after answering those questions I can convince myself not to eat it. Sometimes you do have to give into some of your cravings also but you have to be in control when you do it and make adjustments to the rest of your days diet to adjust for it. If you deny every craving they will just keep coming. Good Luck.
