    First thing is don't get upset. Everyone loses at different paces. At this phase you need to focus on getting enough water and protein in. Don't even check your weight. Your body is adjusting to the major changes it went through. The weight loss will start when you least expect it. Stalls happen all throughout the process and it is very easy to get discouraged but know that if you are following the plan weight loss will happen. Good luck. The journey isn't always easy but it gets better as time goes by.

    Please explain

    The swallowing problems come primarily from the swelling which is caused by the intubation as well as the surgery. They will find a way to make sure you can take your medicine if you can't swallow the pills right away they will find an iv version of the med to give you. Good Luck.

    Like the others have said with time you will be able to chug again. I am 7 months out and drink at least 120 oz a day, and more important to your question at times I do chug my water. Good Luck, enjoy the journey it's not always easy but it gets better as time goes by.

    You should be able to find biotin anywhere that sales supplements, I know they have them a Wal-Mart, and Rite-Aid pharmacy.

    More and more of the surgeons are getting rid of the 2 week preop diet, apparently the current studies are showing it doesn't make much of a difference. Good Luck.

    After Surgery Exercise time off?

    Well that's almost 2 weeks, so you will probably be able to get around but will most likely get tired very easily. I personally started back to work about 2 weeks out, I am a paramedic so kind of a physical job, did ok but would be very tired by the end of a shift. Good Luck.

    I actually find that I like spicy food more now post op then I did before. Haven't had any problems caused by the spiceyness of anything. Good Luck.

    My journey begins.

    Welcome. Enjoy the journey it's not always easy but it gets better as time goes, stay positive as much as possible. It's great to try the protein products before hand, but I don't recommend buying a bunch of anything before surgery because most people (myself included) experience changes in there tastes after the surgery. I have seen many posts on here about people who bough a bunch of a certain protein they liked preop and then couldn't stand it post op. Good Luck.
  14. At the phase you are currently at it should take at least a half hour to drink a shake, as time goes by and the healing continues inside it will get easier and before you know it you will be drinking faster. Good Luck.

    Interesting dermotology issue

    It is possible you broke a capillary there which would have initially raised and been sore from the blood being in the tissue but would then be less painful but would continue to get larger and then fade. If that is the case there isn't really anything to do for it. But of course it is best to have it checked by a medical professional in person.

    Gym and food

    You should not push starting to go to the gym, your body needs time to heal. Most start out exercising lightly with walking, treadmill. You don't want to start any heavy lifting until you are healed.
  18. If you are on puree you can start introducing more real food proteins, I used a lot of canned meats(tuna, chicken, deviled ham) and cheeses in that phase just blend them if necessary to get the puree consistently. I have also read of people blending any type of meat. It's important to remember that your body needs protein to heal so these problem will take longer to get better if you don't find some way to get enough protein in. Good Luck.

    snacking?

    I believe if you are tracking the calories, carbs and protein and keeping the numbers in the proper ranges for you it doesn't really matter how frequently you eat. My impression has always been that grazing is when you are walking through the kitchen and grab a handful of something shove it your mouth and don't even consider the calories and such from it. By tracking everything you make sure you are not over eating. Good Luck.

    Protein Idea's ?

    Any kind of meat will be a good source of protein at this point. I used a lot of the canned meats early on, tuna, canned chicken, canned turkey, potted meat, devilled ham. Any kind of beef jerky, I eat a lot of jack's links jerky products. If you can't tolerate milk you can also try mixing protein shakes with water a lot of them are pretty good that way imo. Remember if you don't get enough protein your body will starting eating muscle tissue to get what it needs, when your muscle mass goes down you won't be able to burn as much fat so your weight loss will slow and you will be increasingly tired and weak.     The best way I have found is to take pictures of yourself every couple weeks and set them out next to each other or digitally put them together and you will be able to see the difference. We all have that thought process that we are not really losing the weight because throughout our lives we never have been able to do this kind of thing before or else we wouldn't be here now, the mind will play tricks on you especially when you look in the mirror.     Sleeved yesterday afternoon help!

    You are perfectly normal for this phase. The nausea could be coming from the pain meds if you are taking any, and you should take them if you need them but ask them to give you an anti nausea med with them if they aren't already doing so. Keep walking it will release the gas from your stomach which will help with the pain and possibly the swelling, and keep sipping.     Week 5 no weight loss

    As the others have said it is very common to have stalls throughout the journey, a lot of times you can see your progress if you look at things other then the scale. But know that if you are eating 600 calories a day you will most definitely keep losing and one day you will wake up and find a sizable loss after your stall.
