  1. I understand that protein is the main focus as to what our diets are made up of and why. But why do a lot of you have restrictions on the amount of carbs you eat per day? I understand it goes with more rapid weight loss. We are all pretty experienced dieters when it gets to WLS stage .... I personally have done every low-carb diet known to man with great initial results!! Atkins .... Dukan ..... so how is this any diff? Once your sleeves become more accommodating and a more normal diet is consumed 1 year out does it not mean weight regain later on? Wouldn't it just be better to eat everything in moderation from day 1? Just wondering

Makes a lot of sense - cheers Robyn!!

    Getting sleeved Gangnam Style!

Hahaha Koreans are so beautifully blunt aren't they? Just got back from there teaching English in a high school ... and have just recently been sleeved. Fortunately no-one ever commented on my weight!!! Does wonders for your self esteem that country though. Brave decision to be sleeved there! Their hospitals just dont seem equipped for waygooks. Do u mind if I ask how much won it is costing you? Or is it covered with medical insurance?
  4. They probably just ate a lot worse than you did pre-sleeve
  5. What was your pre-sleeve weight? I was sleeved a day before you and have lost only 4lbs more than you. I am also training for a half marathon and run every day so without clearance to exercise yet you are doing fantastic!! You don't want it to fall off overnight anyways .... less skin problems!! Be patient

    4 weeks post, ravenous

Wow I am 5 weeks post op and couldn't eat that many calories a day if I tried!!! I am lucky to get in 600 .... may not be such a bad thing though! Can u give an example of your average daily meal plan? Maybe you will feel more restriction down the track when you get to soft foods. Congrats on the loss though!
  7. Don't do it ..... i was on it for 2 years and gained 50lbs over that time. Not to mention bleeding constantly. It's so unnatural to not have a period. The iud has worked best for me even though I was the 1% to fall pregnant after 2 years!!! Got it again after bubs was born as only contraception I have not gained weight with!! Everyone is different though so it may be the best thing for you .

    Tomatoes Soup

Funny how all NUTs are so different. It was only my allowed list after 3 days post op and lived off it day and night during my liquid stage. Never had any problems with it.

    Exercise Routines

I'm a month out and cleared for everything except weights and contact sport I am swimming, walking, tennis and running (training for 1/2 marathon) but I was fairly active and fit pre surgery. I exercise 4-5 days per week.
  10. I had my surgery the day before you weigh 40lbs more and I have only lost 22lbs post surgery. I also exercise everyday and training for a half marathon.(have always been fit & fat) Also on my second stall. I am pleased with my loss and so should you!

    What Is Everyone Eating?

I was sleeved on the 7th also. My NUT seems different here I am from New Zealand although focus is on Protein they are not worried about counting carbs. B- 1/2 weetbix, milk with 1 tbl spoon canned fruit or scrambled egg L - some kind of meat chicken, salmon, pork, mince or poached egg D - meat again last night I made a fish pie. For Snacks I have rice crackers, Greek yoghurt & fruit or smoothies with 1/2 banana, yoghurt, milk and ice.
  12. I stalled 1 week after surgery too for 8 days. Keep doing what your doing it will come off!! Its just your body's way of catching up.Take your measurements because I still lost inches and my clothes still got looser
  13. I was sleeved on the 6th and down 22lbs since surgery plus 15lbs pre-op. Feeling good!! I had my stall week 2&3 and stopped weighing myself because I knew there was nothing else I could do when I was on full liquids and exercising every day
  14. I am also 1 month out and feel the same. Have been told by my NUT to have 6 small meals a day .... considering the time it takes me to eat it feels like my life is revolving around food! I barely go over 400-500 cal though and exercise on top of that I tend to burn most of that off. I don't think the odd chocolate is a problem as long as you a) exercise it off stick within in your daily calorie limit. No one is perfect. I think it is a slider food so be careful. I have lost 22lbs post op by the way.

    33 Year Old Males Story

    What a babe ....
  18. Any of you experiencing stalls this early on? Sleeved on the 6th and haven't lost anything for over a week now. I am still on liquid diet and exercising every day. Very frustrating I am not too worried but just want to know if anyone is in the same boat.
  19. Hi Dean i was sleeved on the 6th we have lost the same amount .... I lost 7 pre-op and 5kg in the second week. This week I have lost 0.5kg ... frustrating as I exercise a lot and wasn't expecting to stall so soon and am on purely liquid diet but overall you got to be stoked with your 12kg loss!! Keep it up, the scale will move for us shortly I am sure!! Take some measurements as you will still be losing inches I bet
  20. I was sleeved on the 6th and have lost 12lbs since surgery. I have also experienced a stall for the past 4-5 days despite walking an hour everyday for the last week! Am only on liquid diet and drinking my protein shakes so can't be what I eat .... so just hang in there I am sure we will see some scale movement soon!! I have decided I will only weigh myself weekly from now on .....
  21. I refused to crush pills so cut big ones into small pieces and swallowed little ones whole a few days after. My surgeons rules are wait 6 weeks up till then crush or replace with chewable or liquid form.
