  1. 7 weeks out - had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast. For lunch and a few bites of turkey with cranberry sauce bite of potato and a bite of stuffing. For dessert I had berries and a bite of pavlova. Great Christmas!! Even had a glass of wine
  2. I'm also 7 weeks post op ... can't give you advice on the pain but I'm sure it wouldn't be caused by the wine. I had a glass yesterday (cleared by my NUT). No problems for me

Just throwing it out there .... steak was on my 3 week plan!

    A Piece of Cake

    I had no problems.

    Fried Foods

I don't have any problems with any food in moderation.

    Wine?

    3 months
  8. I am 7 weeks out and tested the waters with most things .... I do not dump or slime. I have slimed a couple of times in the earlier weeks if I have eaten too fast but nothing major. I think it's all down to the individual but maybe dumping and sliming is good for keeping you on track!! Prob why bypass patients do so well to begin with!! It will get better though soon I sure

    Do/did you exercise?

I started exercising a week out going for long walks. Now at 6 weeks out I run and play tennis and do some strengthening exercises also at least 5 days a week.

    Medicine question

Yes you "should" be crushing those beasts. Or at very least cutting them into quarters. I was pretty naughty but I never had anything that big to swallow!!

    Fresh fruit

I have days like that too if I eat too many carbs. How far out are you? It's when your at soft food stage you truely feel the restriction. As long as I stick to protein (mainly meats and eggs) and get in all my fluids I have my best days.

    Fresh fruit

Best to check with your NUT. We all have very different plans .... I was allowed 1 piece daily (skin removed) from 6 weeks post op. At this stage I dont have room for it with getting in the protein requirements and see it as a treat rather than a daily thing!
  13. You were sleeved a day after me Wow can't believe your Dr doesn't believe in taking vitamins! Mine doesnt want me drinking protein shakes or eating bars which seems to be uncommon on these threads. How do eggs sit with you? Good alternative to meat. I'm a bit sick of being a carnivore myself!! I think as long as u stick to your eating plans and exercise its pretty hard to fail at this pretty amazing tool we have!
  14. How far out are you? I am assuming early stages. You should be having protein with every meal... include some in your breakfast too. Juice wouldn't be in my NUTs plan either but we all have different guidelines, I see it as empty calories myself! - Congrats on the loss

    Wine or no Wine?

My surgeon says to wait 3months and you are there so I say go for it!! You will soon know if it sits well or not
  16. I see that you are married ... but I can understand why your wife doesn't put out for you.
  17. Quit while you are ahead Fishy .... you are making a ****** of yourself. FYI -my "skinny" friends have the worst self esteem issues of them all! Clearly you haven't got any in a while ....
  18. This is prob a stupid question but would love to know the answer to encourage me to drink!! Why is water so important to our weight loss? I have seen people posting to drink more to break stalls or reasons for inadequate weight loss etc. What function does drinking high volumes of liquid serve?

    Its my 2 year anniversary!

You look banging - awesome work
  20. I have only told a few select people. I dont see it as other peoples business. I would certainly inform anyone who struggles with weight how I did it though. Just don't want the judgement and the watching what I eat. If I want a cookie I'll have a cookie!! I'm accountable to myself and my NUT and my surgeon who I still will have appointments with 3 years out. I currently am only 6 weeks out and may change my mind after I've lost the weight but mine was mainly cosmetic reasons and I know everyone would say that I don't really need it as that's been the reaction from everyone I've told except my partner who was like hell yeah!
  21. Very similar stats to me 6 weeks out and lost 27lbs since surgery + 15lbs pre-op. Feeling good!! What was your op weight?
  22. I was a boyfriend of 6 years and went on a weight loss pill and lost around 90lbs. He never complimented my weight loss and would make remarks about how I looked better before. It was just him being insecure but this led me to ending the relationship. Then at the low weight I had achieved shortly after I met my current partner who I recently have had a baby with. I gained all the weight back over 3 years. We decided on surgery together after i suggested it- he also funded the majority of it. He couldn't be more supportive!! Even joining in on the exercise with me. 6 weeks out I have lost quite a bit and things are already better between us. So I think a lot has to do with your weight at the beginning of the relationship and inferiority and superiority complexes.

    No alcohol ever?

No way you can have a life!!! I am cleared by my NUT to drink from 2 months post op. If it agrees with you and you drink in moderation and with caution then it's fine.

    Breastfeeding Post-Op

I breastfed my 5 month old up until the day of surgery and a week or two afterwards then noticed he was getting way too frustrated. Unfortunately the op completely diminished my supply with the lack of food and nutrients It's def not possible to exclusively BF after surgery but you can prob mix feed for as long as you can 6 weeks out from surgery I still have milk - just not much.

    1 month postop today

Are you exercising? It's helped my weight loss a lot. (Ive lost 43lbs in 6 weeks including pre-op) I don't think losing slowly is a bad thing though. A loss is a loss! The person who I know who had this surgery 3 years ago and convinced me to do it lost 1lb every week for 2 years ... and lost more than half her body weight! No skin problems either!!
