    Chips?

Lol .... no damage done. You chewed and they were baked not fried - sounds like a pretty tame "treat" for 17 weeks out
  2. You're on VST - we are all biased. We will all tell you to get the sleeve. Haha. For me it came down to two different experiences with 2 different weight loss drugs. Each were successful initially. The first just like the bypass I experienced dumping if I ate over 15g of fat per meal. It was horrible. However - some may like that side effect because it keeps them in check. I decided to discontinue with the drug as I hated the side effects even though it only very occasional. Second drug I tried a few years after was an appetite reducer just like the sleeve ss it removes a lot of the hormone that tells your brain you're hungry. I couldn't fit much in and was never hungry. This was hugely successful and I kept the weight off until they took this drug off the market suddenly due to reported cases of heart attacks. I think I admitted defeat straight away rather than working to stay at that weight. Not even 3 months out from being sleeved yet I can eat whatever I want in very small amounts. I have lost 55lbs or 25kg. I do not experience dumping. I wanted to live a life of moderation and normality. If you cannot stop at 1 cookie or 1 piece of chocolate then I would suggest the bypass to keep you in check. At the end of the day you have to weigh up the pros and cons of both and choose the path that suits you best.

    Excuses

Detox diet was what I said .... it's so acceptable to be on a diet these days. Then you can bring out your protein shake and they won't think anything of it

    Impact on social life

No negative impact for me .... more positive!! I'm 25 and like you enjoy a few drinks with friends often! I had my first glass of wine 7 weeks PO. Now 3 months out I have the ability to drink the same as I did before (my tolerance has not changed unfortunately - I was keen to be a cheap date)!!! With that being said I'm putting the drinking on hold for a while (except special occasions e.g. weddings, birthdays etc.) as I am committed to making the most out of the first 6 months. Now I am 55lbs down and 25kg lighter I have a lot of compliments coming my way and I love dressing up to go out! I have so much more confidence hence only positives for me!! also dinners and restaurants etc I either order a soup or a salad and no-one seems to notice how little I do eat!!

    Cup of wine ?

    drinking

Search the threads there is heaps of questions relating to this topic. I personally waited 7 weeks (I was told 2 months - but hey it was xmas and close enough). Went down very slowly but fine.

    Cold cereal

I have eaten cold cereal since 3 weeks out so I think you will def be safe to start! I started off with 1/4 soggy weetbix (that's what we call them over here) and then per NUT any other high protein cereal from 6 weeks.

    If there was one....

I like my scale it's been pretty nice to me so far Read up on stalls and expect at least one in the first month. It's just your body catching up. Oh - and take measurements!!

3 weeks out and have a question

Aim for 10lbs a month. Thats what I was told is the average monthly loss. If you go by weekly you will be disappointed when you experience stalls etc.
  15. It's a massive difference!! Great job!

    Birth Control and Surgery

Yep still get periods - it's pretty unhealthy in my books not to get them!! Might be a reason for weight gain ... I have always had no problem periods and they (for me) are lighter with the IUD in place. This isn't the case for everyone though.

    Birth Control and Surgery

What about the copper IUD? No hormones no weight gain ... stays up there for 5 years. Can be easily taken out if u decide you want babies beforehand .... it's the only BC that hasn't led me to gain weight. I got one when I was 22. No babies.

    Exercise?

Reason your weight loss is slowing is you are prob about to experience the week 2 or 3 stall - things will speed up soon
