1. My doctor is the same 3 meals. I dont follow that though at 4 months out because she wants me on 3/4 of a cup already which I cant do. So I have 1/2 cup lunch and 1/4 cup snack. Same thing isnt it? The 3 meals def helps get all your fluids in.
2. Its clearly working for you though Nurse Grace! Keep up this experiment I would love to see these results a few months out

Help me pick out an outfit

Dress - shows off your weight loss the best
5. Yes yes yes ... you were sleeved same day as me by the way I definately find myself craving carbs and sugar and wanting to graze. I never experienced this pre-sleeve! But then I was never deprived either I allow myself a small treat e.g. mini choc bar and go for an extra long walk. Exercise is a good distraction.

alcohol

I had my first drink 7 weeks out on Christmas Day. Had a glass of wine and felt no pain or ill effects. Since then I have stuck to wine on special occasions (it's summer and silly season over here at months) and I had 1 naughty night just over 3 months where I drunk a bottle of wine and 2x vodka cran's with a friend i hadnt seen in years and went clubbing. I cant drink fast and sip throughout the evening. I get tipsy but not drunk. For your first night I say just have 1 or 2. You need to test the waters as you don't know how your body will react.

to mosh or not to mosh

I don't think Pink Floyd will be a mosh I think it will be a gentle sway .... I think as long as you aren't at the very front where you can be pushed against the barriers you would be fine stick to the back of the "mosh" and have an escape route handy. Enjoy! I'm jealous

Sick of the attention

I honestly find it weirder when co-workers/ extended family DON'T comment on my weight loss .... I have lost a lot of weight previously and it doesn't last long ... The attention is love hate for me as the attention can be overwhelming but I also find it motivating - they adjust to your new weight pretty quickly Then you get a new kind of attention - from strangers of the opposite sex!!

Leaks

I was told 6 weeks and majority of unavoidable leaks happen in week 1 or 2. Anything between week 3-6 is usually caused by overeating and eating wrong foods. You really shouldn't worry about it - it's a very small percentage similar to that of the morbidity rate during the op. And at the end of the day it's the risk that we all signed up for .... goodluck

2 quick questions

The staples don't dissolve and the stomach heals together over top of the staples. Don't worry you will not set off the metal detectors in the airport

Optifast

I could so cope with that!!

Optifast

Are you allowed veggies from a list as well? And sugar free lollies? WW jelly? Diet soft drinks etc. I made soups with the "allowed" veggies. I also made salads with 1tsp olive oil lemon juice and mustard. And if I didn't have salad I would sometimes stirfry some veggies with spray oil. Helped keep me sane. Glad I had to do a pre-op. Prepared me well for post surgery.

Optifast

I had to do optifast for 2 weeks. I found the shakes to be the only edible things out of the lot. The soups bars and desserts were all foul. The chocolate and strawberry shakes aren't terrible you get used to them. Buy online and you will save more. I also had to use optifast 3 weeks post surgery until I started on puree. Now 4 months post-op it's all a distant memory! Good luck

When is running ok?

I was naughty and ran a 6km event 2 weeks out but my surgeon told me at least one month.
18. U hear ya! Going through the same thing as you. Sleeved a week or 2 after you. I havent stalled yet (except for 10 days at the start) - down 65lbs and last week gained 3lbs and am stuck on that. Mid-cycle so period isn't coming up. So hard not being disheartened and thinking this is end of road huh! I have slacked on exercise and could do better with water as well.

Alcohol/drinks

I drink white wine and had a few vodka crans on the weekend with low cal cranberry. I wish I was a cheap date but I'm not unfortunately It's the same for me as before except I can't drink as fast.
20. Why stay away front beef for a year? Great source of iron which you will certainly be lacking after the op due to restricted intake .... after a year of deprivation of those foods I hope it doesn't lead to gain like all other low carb diets when you introduce them back in your diet.
21. Hey guys I am 3 months post op (8 months post baby also) and would love to see some pics of scars of sleevers further out! Do they eventually disappear? Before my op I really wanted to see some after pics so here you go newbies!!
