I hate the time of these threads when a person says something's others don't agree with. We are not here to bash to criticize or lecture. The best thing is do to is to offer unbiased advice and ask that the person check in with their doctor. It's not my business what their lifestyle or leisure time looks like and neither is it yours people stop being so judgement and harsh. That is all

I went with Dr. Garcia in Tijuana and i had a wonderful time. Everyone was nice and professional and i am 6 months out no complications no extra skin, hell i havent even had a cold and i stay in Wisconsin! Good luck on navigating the site and gathering opinions. Remember to choose whats best for you. Take Care.

I took a shot of vodka recently and whooooooo i felt it right away. Granted i was not a heavy drinker before but i mean right away it went to my head and impacted me. So honestly im not going to be partaking in the spirits like that. Im sure you can expect to be impaired. Also the calories and empty nutritional value of liquor is a turn off for most.

I have been a boxer for a good deal of my life. Dvd's and books will not get you where you need to go. Im not sure where you live but joining a local gym is the best thing to get you in shape and actually learn the science. Im not talking your planet fitness or strip mall boxing lessons gym. Im talking a community center or local boxing gym thats been around for a while. Community centers usually charge about 50 or 100 a year. It will also help with the anxiety of being overweight and gaining confidence back. I hope this helps, it has helped me and i lost my first hundred pounds within 5 months after i decided to start boxing again.

As far as work outs go i do all cardio. I was actually this small a couple of years ago when i boxed. I went back to what i did best, boxing. So i do all cardio which consists of running and cardio machines. I have had not stomach issues what so ever i went back to working out about a month after surgery. The only thing is my muscles and bones arent as strong from what i believe is lack of protein...so recovery is essential. Hope this helps. -
I went to work a couple of days after surgery. I was back in the gym within a month. It was important for me because i didnt want to have scores of flabby skin hanging every where. I did all cardio as i do now and i am 6 months out. I also box and i went boxing after 2 months.

its awesome to cross your legs
mrdr replied to brebee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I agree! as i cross my legs. -
I have lost exactly 100 pounds in about 5 months which is really fast. The key for me is i started to workout right after surgery about a month out. So working out helped me not get tons of skin. So like eazye i dont have skin problems. The only problem that i have is a little i mean little skin around my belly button. I have to tell myself that i am only 5 months out and i can most likely get that off. If i cant get it off i have considered getting it removed. I would tell you to create a workout regiment so that you can help your body heal and shrink.

I agree with everyone no carbonated drinks. I made the mistake of ordering a lemonade while out to eat one day thinking it was regular lemonade. Well it wasnt. I had a couple of sips seeing that it was my first carbonated drink in nearly 4 months i didnt recognize the taste right away. Oh boy my stomach did and didnt like it. So that was my first and last trip up with carbonated drinks! I do believe everyone is different. I have a friend who had the sleeve and chugs dr. peppers.

mrdr replied to mrdr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the surgery the last week of November 2012. I went back after about a month and half. So i started in Feb of this year. I boxed prior to my hiatus so getting back wasnt a big leap besides being tired and out of shape. But now problems or complications that can be linked with my surgery. -
ive never crushed a pill in the 5 months since i had surgery. I was able to get my pills down right after surgery.

mrdr replied to lilac lass's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took a couple of heartburn meds until i found one that worked. I take lansoprazole once a day I order it from amazon for 20$ for a 3 pack of 14 day treatment per bottle so that about 42 pills. I take it everyday faithfully. Hope this helps. and i am 5 months out as well. -
Uggh! Discouragement From VA Bariatric Coordinator on Mexico Sleeve
mrdr replied to cerenatee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree i think you should do what is best for you. I went to mexico and i have lost 100 pounds in 5 and half months. I have no complications. I have had to get used to my new body, eating habits and the reflux. Thats about it. I would suggest talking to someone who has been to mexico for the sleeve. My ex girlfriend was the reason why i went, she didnt have any complications either. I was a self-pay i could not afford the us prices of 12-30k as opposed to the 4k that i paid in mexico and i was put up in a hotel for my entire stay, the food and water and drinks were also free. All of my meds and aftercare were also free. There is a huge community of people who have had surgeries in Mexico who support each other. I wish you the best on your journey. Take care. -
looking great! You look 10 year younger.
