Mommy makeover with small children?
Kelsan replied to amytug's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Ah, this is my fantasy! I have my VSG in a week and I've already started researching plastic surgeons in my state. I need something to reach for . I have a friend who just had a tummy tuck after having her last child and she need extra help for a month after her surgery. She's the only person I know who's had a TT, so not much else to go on. I'm curious to see what others say though. Good luck - hope things go well. -

Initial surgical consultation
Kelsan replied to hopeliveshere's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked what size bougie he uses (what size tummy you'll have after). My surgeon uses the smallest size 32, but he said he does not staple the stomach tightly around it, so it lessens the likelihood of leaks. -

Congratulations, you must be so excited!!! -
I was not going to tell my children anything. They were just going to spend the night at my parents house and be none the wiser. At least that was the plan. However, my 5 year old over heard my mom tell my dad that I was going to have surgery in a couple of weeks. My dh started crying and saying she couldn't live without me and she didn't want me to have a surgery. I knew she might we worried about me, but I wasn't expecting this reaction (which was why I wasn't going to say anything, I don't want to worry her). It's a tough call. Maybe you could explain it to the older child, but the younger one might get scared for you and worry. At least that was my experience. Good luck on the surgery and a speedy recovery.

That's so exciting. I think I would be so nervous, I'm such a baby. I cried before my c-sections too. Surgeries just freak me out

Will my marriage survive WLS?
Kelsan replied to JennyBeth's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
He should consider seeing a therapist to help him deal with his feelings. A good spouse needs to be there for you too and I think you should still go ahead with the surgery. -
Congratulations Leleboo! I think you found a great program - Which doctor will be doing your surgery? .
