Thanks to all of you for the advice on my prolem I posted back in september about vomiting and band issues. I also want to thank you all for the prayers during Rita. Thanks God it missed Houston. Evacuation process was a nightmare. We drove almost 15 hours from Houston to Austin with 2 and 4 year olds in the car with no AC in Texas heat (horrible). What is even worse is my 4 year old has Asperger's so her patience was really going out there. However, we survived and got back home to everything good. Once again thanks a lot.

Hi, I am hoping someone may have advice on what is happening to me. I was banded in december 2004. The weight loss has been slow (I have lost about 60 lbs. so far). I had fill in April and I was fine until July. Then in July I strted vomiting everything I put in my mouth. I called dr. and he said come in and we will have some taken out . I t worked great. Then two weeks later I realized I need more fill. I went and for the first time since surgery I had fill with x-ray and everything to make sure everything is ok. It was according to x-ray. One week after fill I was vomiting again. I called the dr. again and he said to come in and take all fill out and give me two weeks to heal. I gained some weighrd back in those two weeks but it did not bother me because I knew I will go back. On September 5th I went back, got the fill and was fine for first 5 or 6 days, started eating normally and then , this is the worst part, DURING THE DAY I CANNOT EAT ANYTHING AND I MEAN ANYTHING BIT Water AND juice AND THEN AFTER 7 OR 8 PM I CAN EAT A COW. WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING? I am so affraid that something is wrong with my band. I lost my job few months ago and got divorced recently so I have no way to pay for a new surgery. I hardly save money to pay $150 for fills. I have two kids and I am honestly going nuts over this. I am scard to call the dr. because I cannot afford to go see him. Please if you have any advice let me know. Thank You Eli

thank you all for your messages. I decided to only do liquids for next 3-4 days and see what happens. If I do not get better I will probably go and have it unfilled. I am going to pray that it will work . You all are so wonderful. I will let you know what happens. Also, please pray for all of us in Houston during hurricane Rita. Love to all, Eli

I am so depresed. I had my lap band surgery 2.5 months ago and I gained 10 pounds. When I see all these people loosing weight I just cry and cry and I don't have a clue what to do anymore. My next fill is next week but I am so discouraged I am not sure if I even want to go. Does anyone has any advice? Eli

can anyone please tell me some foods or recipes or websites that would help me in weight loss. I had my lap band but it seems I always eat wrong foods. Should I be skipping carbs and eating only Protein or how. I had my lap band done on 12-1-04 and had one fill so far and I have lost only 5 lbs. It seems that I always end up eating wrong foods (pasta, bread, even snacks). I would really like some healthy fast and easy recipes becuause I am so busy to prepare long meals. I have a 3 years old and a 15 month old and a full time job. If u can give me any info it would be greatly appreciated. (I cannot ask my dr. becase I feel very sorry I had the surgery with, the dr. patientrelationship sacks and whenver you call his office and leave a messaage no one calls you back. When I went for my first fill I did not get a chance to ask even one question. He came in, gave me fill and walked ot On the way out he said I should start loosing weight now....go figure...) Thanks

I just recfived from my insurance explanation of benefits for the surgery and it says dr. charged them $30, 149.00 and they paid all but $1149.00 which they say I am responsible for. When I spoke to my dr. office before I had the surgery I asked them how much I would have to pay they said only $100.00 co payment becuse United Healthcare pays 100% for them. So, what do I do now, any ideas? Thank you

I need help. I had my lap band on 12-1-04 and 3 days after surgery I was starving. I stayed up all night hungry, not able to sleep from hunger. I was drinking liquids as instructed by my dr. , but it was not helping. I called dr. office to ask if I can eat something and nurse never returned my call. I ate solid foods already and now I am afraid that I have done damage to my self. I had no problem eating solid foods, no thorowing up or anything. On 12-10-04 I went for check up and nurse just looked at my scar and said you are fine you can go home. I told her i have not been able to do liquid diet and am afraid of complications and all she asked is did you throw up and I said no , and she said I am fine and I can go home. Today is 12 days after my surgery and I can normally eat solids. I cannot eat as much as I used to , I feel full much sooner but I can eat solid food with no problem. Has anyone experienced this? Have I damaged my stomach by eating solids right away? Please help....
