Great job Frank! I've not had any complications and my recovery was unevetful. I want to lose 110 pounds. Was sleeved on Nov 5 and am down 30 pounds. Oh....I had my lap and taken out when I was sleeved. I feel great. My weight loss is a little slower than I would like but I am so happy. Like you, I am not hungry and forget to eat. I'm still drinking shakes and eating one or two yogurts a day. I just don't feel like eating. Anyway, glad to hear of your success. I love reading the good, the bad and the ugly here. Everyone has a story to tell! Happy New Year! -

My husband was more afraid for me than I really was! He thought I was going to die. I was not afraid. I trusted my surgeon. I even told him my husband thought I was going to die. he told me 1-2% of people leak. Besides trusting my surgeon, I took pain medication, rested a lot. I walked around my hospital floor. My surgeon wanted to discharge me after the first night but I asked to stay another night and he said ok. Don't lift anything, don't cook or clean for anyone. My family was so understanding and pampered me for two weeks. Don't eat what you shouldn't. My surgeon has me on liquids for six weeks post op. This gives the stomach a chance to heal. It will be swollen and sore so give it time. Drink fluids so you don't get dehydrated. Once I got to two weeks post op I was pretty confident I was not going to leak. But if at anytime you just don't feel right or your pain cannot me on trolled with oral medication, call your doctor. I had a spirometer in the hospital. I used it 10 times every hour I was awake. This helps prevent pulmonary embolisms. Walk as much as you can. Oh, and if you are nauseated ask for medication. don't be uncomfortable if you don't have to be. Lastly, I am not overly religious but I asked the Lord to be with me and to keep me calm. I think it helped. You will do fine and you will be so happy with your new life. It's worth it. Good luck and keep up the great work!! -

I had my surgery on November 7 and went back to work on th 19th. I must admit, I was tired the first 2 days. I took it easy over Thanksgiving. I did get dehydrated but made it a point to drink a lot when I realized what was going on. Here's the thing. I'm almost 6 weeks post surgery and still on three protein drinks and a yogurt a day. I'm down 30 pounds. I am supposed to start puréed foods on the 15th but I have no desire to do that. I will do it but have no desire. I've got no complaints. My surgery went great, recovery was a breeze. I feel very fortunate. We all have to hang in there and follow the plan? We will all succeed!! -
not losing very fast!input please!

I had my surgery on 11/7 and have lst 26 pounds but last week was a slow week, only a pound. But I am so pleased and happy that I'm losing. I'm still on liquids. Three protein shakes and one yogurt. I am not hungry and have no desire to eat foods--yet! I know this won't last forever so I'm taking advantage of it. But I understand the feeling of eating next to nothing and gaining or staying the same. That's what happened to me with my lap band. I'm so glad to have that out and to have been sleeved. We are all in the same boat. As long as we stick to our plans we will succeed. Hang in there everyone. This hard work will pay off. Keep up the great work. -

I have the same problem. I am 3 weeks post surgery tomorrow. I have lost 22 pounds. I had no complaints or complications with my surgery. Today I have no energy. I am still on liquids and am struggling to get 800 calories in a day. I have protei shakes and a yogurt. But I cannot get water in either. I have not felt so tired and unenergetic in my life! I hope someone has an idea to get more energy!! -
Newbie! Sleeve Surgery Nov. 27Th
KatinGPW replied to GlendaLee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I too had my band removed after 6 years. I really liked my band but for past 2 years I began vomiting all the time. Food would get stuck for some reason. The sad thing is that I lost 80 pounds and gained about 40 back. I was so disgusted with myself. I am almost three weeks post surgery ( was sleeved 11/7/12) and I am doing great. I've lost 22 pounds and for once in my life I have not been hungry and sometimes forget to eat! I was back to work in 10 days. I am still on liquids and protein powder but I feel great. I'm on liquids for 5 weeks post op and then on to puréed! This was the best til give done for myself. I hope others feel the same as me! Good luck. -

Wow. I was sleeved on the 7th and I'm on liquids still for 5 weeks post surgery. I'm supposed to have three protein shakes made with skim milk and 1 yogurt. I can barely get two shakes in a day. I am not hungry and don't feel like eating. I can't imagine eating any kind of foods right now. I am supposed to start puréed foods on week six post op. anyway, I find it interesting that each person here seems to be on a different eating regime. I hoe that u are feeling better. -

You may need fluids or an IV in case you are dehydrated. Maybe you should call your doctor.
