Anybody regretted it, even with no complications?
ga.peach replied to musiclover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was an emotional eater, loved food. Everything I did surrounded food. Still to this date I go out to eat and have learned to order small protein first always. I push my food around a lot. I would drink 8 coke zeros a day. Since January 9th, water only and don't miss my friend (coke zero my fix) at all. I will tell you when I got my first meal at the hospital and it was an oz of soup and an oz of jello, I thought oh crap I have really messed up. I had my surgery January 9, 2013, and nothing taste as good as it does when I slip on my clothes and it feels AMAZING. I now eat to live, and don't live to eat. I would do it again, and feel better than I have in years. It was not easy, but it is possible for a better way of life and health. One day at a time, it is worth it to me. -

Severe pain right side at the bottom of my rib cage

I have had pain for 24 hours sharp, was worse when I moved around..right side underneath my bottom rib. talked with the nurse said maybe constipation. Took care of that, I don't think that was it. Today I'm sore with sharp pain, but improved. Same spot? I woke up Friday morning with this pain, was fine when I went to bed. I did clean out my closet and moved a lot on Thursday. Anyone else had this happen? -

Thank you very much, its better today, but if it continues I will check in with the doctor on Monday. I had my gallbladder removed several years ago. I thinking (hoping) maybe a pulled muscle? -
That sounds great, I am still on clear liquids, but taking notes.

Post-Op 21 Days - Sick and Tired
ga.peach commented on joatsaint's blog entry in Gastric Sleeve Surgery - An Unexpected Journey
I agree, 1200-1500 calories a day is to much. Anything more than 1200 calories at maintenance will be to much, unless you are doing high energy cardio. I would talk with my doctor and go over the program with your nut. @ walking 3mph for 30 minutes will burn about 200 calories. As we all know what got us to this place was to many calories in not enough burned. It could be you are losing inches, from what I have read stalls happen, just seems like a lot of calories. -
Still hurting...sleeve on jan 8
ga.peach replied to hlynn1008's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on January 9th, pain is worse when I move around a lot for the most part mine is a dull ache from time to time. Yesterday I had a lot of pain compared to today, as long as every day is a little bit better you should be fine. My pain was more gas pain than anything. Are you walking everyday? My doctor wanted me walking about 30 mins a day minimal. I broke it up into 2 walks of 15 minutes. Everybody heals a little different. I think the most important thing is to move, don't get dehydrated, and make sure each day is a step forward. This is such a big change for our body, hang in there. I hope tomorrow is a better day. -
I'm a 1/9/2013.

My surgery was Jan 9th, and I was told clear liquids for 14 days. Thinking about introducing some items on the full liquid list after 7 days. Any thoughts to pros and cons?

My surgery was Wednesday January 9th I had the option of coming home yesterday or today. I choose yesterday, so I've been home overnight. Challenges getting in and out of bed and the withdrawal headache from no caffeine. Also I feel as if I have a lump in my throat, from the tube where I was put to sleep. I am hoping this will get better every day. My doctor has stated me Day 2-14 32 oz of skim milk and 32 oz of clear broth. I'm getting up and walking around every 1-2 hours. Then Saturday I will begin my vitamins and am to walk 30 minutes per day.
